We all have those women we've seen in life, be it real life, on TV, movies or whatnot that have formed bits and pieces of who we all are. Our muses so to speak. The ones that trigger the urge to let your femme side free. Who were some of yours?

If you had to pick an example of someone you've seen in TV, movies (someone recognizable) that the female you would be most like, who would it be?

Mine started in my young days. Early images revolve around showgirls, Pia Zadora, Elvira, and Catherine Bach. I also wanted to be something like Vanna on Wheel of Fortune or Barker's Beauties. I wasn't a Madonna fan, but I was of the fashion trends she inspired.

Then...Kelly Ripa. Well...sort of. My sister roped me into watching All My Children, and I developed an obsession with Hayley Vaughan, Kelly's character. Even as she progressed on the show, I wanted to be so much like her. She gets mixed reactions from people these days, but I still absolutely adore her! And her heels.

So which woman exemplified the kind of woman I felt I'd be? Without a doubt that goes to Melinda Clarke. Anyone familiar with her I don't think would need to ask why. She just exudes strong, sexy, confidence so outwardly and directly without effort and what I can I say, I love the bad girls she plays!

Anyone else?

@amandasdream   I suppose this goes with my age and ethnic heritage, but Candace Bergen comes to mind.  Then Charlize Theron.

@amandasdream not a particular woman but I’ve always loved old black and white movies where the women were so so elegant classy and beautiful

Oh yes, I agree Natalie! Some of those 30s musicals with Ruby Keeler, Deeana Durbin or Ginger Rogers... they would wear some gorgeous clothes and looked fabulous (and I'd love to be able to dance!). Not forgetting Veronica Lake of course... oh to look like them!

Then of course, there are the more 'recent' influences on my style - Linda Carter's 'Wonder Woman'; Siouxsie Sioux; Diana Rigg as Emma Peel (of course!); Joanna Lumley; Susanna Hoffs; Rose McDowall of Strawberry Switchblade; all those gorgeous Goth girls and rock chicks that I never managed to get off with but wanted to dress as in the 80's etc...

Oh, and I must add my lovely partner, who has given me so much advice on co-ordinating, accessorising and style in general!

@coloradog1 I too enjoy the old movies. I just recently watch one of the best, Casablanca. I loved the outfits Ingrid Bergman wore. I couldn’t wait for the next scene to see what she was wearing. She wore some sweet hats also. The men also wore some pretty neat stuff too.

Oh yes, too many to mention but the women from the 50's movies with pencil skirts, seamed stockings and heels! Even the way they moved just oozed feminity. Re the ladies of star trek, there's an episode of TNG where Picard created a holodeck simulation of a "Dixon Hill" novel, and Beverley Crusher was rocking one of my favourite looks, even adjusting the seams on her stockings. She didn't move particularly gracefully but that may well have been deliberate, she was wearing 400 year old fashion after all 😊.

@amandasdream I have to admit that I would love to have Kelly Ripa's hair and wardrobe.  Here clothes are just beautiful, and I adore her heels.   I watch the first 90 seconds of the show everyday to see what she is wearing when she walks out on to the stage.  Then I move on....   I also love Tamron Hall's wardrobe.  She had a blue and white print jumpsuit on yesterday that was so pretty!

@amandasdream This totally ages me but it had to be Joan Lunden. I loved her choice in skirt suits and heels. Made me rather obsessed with pantyhose as well.

For me, it was probably the women of Star Trek. Kira Norice, Jadzia Dax, Counselor Troy, 7 of 9, and Uhura. I spent a lot of time watching Star Trek and so those women had a powerful influence on what I thought women could be. Beautiful, but also smart, and capable in every way.

Whether or not I can live up to a standard like that, in either guy or girl mode, is a completely different question, of course.

Definitely loved the ladies of Trek as well. Still never got over the young Ashley Judd on TNG even though it was only one episode.

@amandasdream At the moment, I don't try to focus on one person. I don't try to emulate or imitate a celebrity.

I am not sure too many GGs dress quite like me, either. 😆

@amandasdream Since I don't watch TV anymore, I had to look up Kelly and Melinda. Initially, no picture showed Kelly in heels, so I added that word to the next search.

All pictures then showed her in tall heels. She is 5'2".

You mentioned Vanna White of Wheel of Fortune and she is the one that I find to be ideal. But, I'd be happy to have any female take me on as someone to mentor into femininity. I had such a friend once but she moved to another state.

I’ve always wanted to be the homemaker and June Cleaver (Barbara Billingsley) is my role model.  I admire all those 50s housewives such as Donna Reed.

Women are so lucky to have such choices to wear, fabrics, styles, colors, combinations. As a mtf, CD'er I'm LOVIN  ❤️  IT, but us males NEVER got to feel "pretty", till we put on a skirt or a frilly dress! Or matching panties and bra, get our nails done, etc.

Since I'm really into people who can sing and write their own songs, I'd be Carole King.

Historically, cos I LOVE period fashion, I'd be Scarlett O Hara or Marie Antoinette. (heck out my photos on this site).

But with the latter, I get to keep my head.

Caty.
