For the perfect ready to eat meal seen Brach Candy came out with Turkey dinner in the candy corn line.

Comes with candy corn that taste like turkey then green beans. stuffing. Apple pie. All have to do is supply your drinks and rolls. And of course cranberry and the gravy.

Just curious on the pricing seen for a bag is 20 us dollars on up.

I like brach candy corn, but that just seems kinda...um...yuck

Original is good, I'll just stick to that

Halloween first though, then I'll get prepped for Thanksgiving. I have a goth outfit in the works that needs put to use.

We roasted our last Thanksgiving turkey last year.

6 hours of prep, 90 minutes of clean up for a 20 minute meal that we throw half of out.

Nope, no more.

I’ll bake a pie to bring to one of the kids homes.

We will be celebrating Thanksgiving in a couple of weeks, but we still haven't figured out who's doing the dinner, or what we will have yet.

If I'm lucky I'll get to make the desert dressed in my maid outfit to take to my daughter's place for everyone to enjoy.

P.S. the weekend after Thanksgiving last year our stove died. That prompted a kitchen renovation that has cost over 10k and still isn’t finished.

I didn’t mention that part of the living room ceiling caved in.
All the banging and sawing in the kitchen loosened the plaster. So yeah, the living room is next.

Sounds like time to take out a loan and just do complete remodel. Bound to happen sooner or later.

My SO likes to cook and we've had as many as 12-13 around the table at our home, family and friends for a lot of years.  Not this year, tho.  We'll be off to see our daughter and grandkids in the southwest. They'll be coming here for Christmas.

I like pumpkin pie but my SO makes a mean Sweet Potato Pie which is even better.  From an old family tradition on my side, she also makes her version of a cake I've loved since childhood that Grandma would make. It was called a burnt sugar cake and was the color of caramel candy with a frosting to die for. Sadly, the recipe never got written down but I still really like the alternative. I also like cranberry relish - not pure cranberry, but with a zest of orange which makes it far more tasty.

But as was mentioned, Halloween comes before that and we decorate to the hilt for that too, including our bowl from which we pass out candy (wrapped of course) which has a skeleton head that comes alive.

Oh, yeah, gotta have some of that Brach's candy corn, which doesn't do any favors to my digest...well, you know.

🦃🦃     Donna....🦃🦃

We don't celebrate Thanksgiving here in England, but I hope all you girls who do,  enjoy it!!!

Can you believe that we actually have a turkey shortage here at the moment!!!....and it appears there will not be enough for Christmas. It doesn't really effect me, as I always have a nice piece of beef on Christmas day anyway.....

huggs, grace xx

One holiday at a time, por favor!

My current hurdle is I typically smoke a turkey and... well long story short I currently have nothing functional to smoke it in. Le gasp! So it's either find time in my increasingly busy work schedule to make/buy/fix something large/functional enough to do so or to (le mega-gasp) break tradition!
