I'm feeling blah….I think its the winter blues. I'm tired of the cold and covid. I can't wait until its light until 8PM and the warm summer breezes.

Not quite as cold here in Ontario as in Montana, but we are only few degrees above 0F tonight, and the next few nights are going to be even colder. Right now we have maybe close to a foot and half of snow on the ground, with 4" more forecast tonight, and another 6-10" forecast for the day after. If it all comes to pass that is. Lots of times they are wrong. Like the time a couple of weeks ago when they 2", and we got 6".

So I'm with you other girls, can't wait to go for a drive in my convertible, even with the top up. Then with the Covid restrictions, we have been under a stay at home order for the last 4 weeks, and most places are closed anyway, so no where fun to go.

Sadly Covid will still be with us I'm afraid even when I'm able sit outside in my bikini again.

All this snow/winter talk sounds a lot like winnipeg. We love complaining about the winter. It's just minus -38 with windchill, not that bad really. I even thought about walking home from work tonight. You just gotta dress (I wouldn't use a dress though) for it.

All throughout 2020, I was a BIG supporter of the lockdown here in the UK.  I know this is going to be controversial, but as far as I was concerned, none of the national lockdowns have gone far enough.  This is an unprecedented situation and thus calls for unprecedented measures that we’ve never seen before in our lifetime, and hopefully will never see again and we should be doing whatever it takes to beat it as fast as we can.  By doing these half measures, we’re only making the restrictions last longer as it takes longer for things to improve.

I still 100% believe in this principle.  However, when it came to this year and we’re effectively still in square 1, I did feel very deflated.  The vaccine programme certainly brings hope, but I know I’m a fair way down the priority list so it’s still some way out before I would receive it.

I think it’s knowing that I’m in the situation for probably another 6 months that’s worse.

Chuck on top of that a pretty crap winter (by UK standards) and it’s just not a very happy time.

But, I don’t think I’m alone in feeling like that.

I try to be a positive person and I’m very excited for spring and summer to arrive with warmer conditions and lighter evenings.  They’ve promised us 15C (60F) next weekend so I’m thinking about a BBQ in the garden hehe.

Please all stay safe and know there is a light at the end of the tunnel.  That day of being able to meet up, give each other a massive hug and be in close contact is coming!  I’ve pre-booked my first ever salon session for a pedi and a mani for ‘whenever it’s open again’ so something to look forward to, at least.

Love Rachel

OMG, I was jarred out of sleep by some very loud thunder. I had heard of thunder snow up north but never here in south east Texas. It then started with sleet and hail and the temperature is supposed to be in the low teens. This just isn’t supposed to happen here! After two hurricanes last season and the Covid19, I think the apocalypse is near. Does everyone have their zombie survival kit up to date?   Stephanie
