I love this site, but what's with the notifications? If I have 4 replies, 3 seem to get lost as soon as I click on them, and I end up incessantly scrolling through threads to see who replied to what. The same with Thanks - as soon as you click, it jumps to the first (or last?) and that's it - the notification disappears.
Am I doing something wrong?

The notifications are not disappearing. They are simply being marked as read. You will need to change the filter at the top of the list of notifications from unread to read, and you will be able to see those earlier notifications. As for the notification not centering on the post in question, I have noticed that they are a little hit or miss. For most part, I have learned to click on notification, and be patient (no scrolling or clicking for several seconds), then the link will center on the post in reference.
