For some reason I haven’t been dressing much lately. I’m guessing it’s just one of those times when I’m not as interested as I want to be. So, yesterday I forced myself to at least do my makeup since I’ve had a new dress for over a week and haven’t had time to show it off. Usually I get dressed and do my makeup after I’m dressed, but yesterday I had a premonition that it might not go so well, and it didn’t. It was all going great until I went to put on the last eyelash and it just would never look right no matter what I did. I noticed that all my eye makeup was now a mess and rather than start over, I just gave up and took off the whole thing with makeup wipes. How disappointing!
But then this morning when I got dressed and was looking in the mirror, I could see a big difference in both the wrinkles and the feel of my skin on my face. When I do my makeup, I use primer, concealer and foundation. I know that stuff is advertised to help your skin look and feel better, but I was amazed that it actually works. The only problem I have now is that I can’t walk around with full makeup all the time but I love the way my face looks and feels. I know there are men’s facial skin routines, but there’s no fun in those.
So, I hope you all have had the same experience with your own makeup routines.
I sometimes get the feeling that it's all too much trouble and leave it for a few days. Eventually, my wife might ask if Becca want to go shopping, and while I still don't think I can be bothered, I don't want her to lose interest, so I put my face on and get dressed and, behold! Becca is back. It feels so good that I wonder why I didn't want to do it in the first place as I know I'm always going to feel better with Becca.

I find that my face doesn't transform as well as it used to,
I clean my face every night and use moisturizer. Then in the morning i use a toner, moisturizer and sunscreen every day. Even if I'm not dressing that day.
Yes Roberta.. lovely.. me too.. a little moisturizer after shaving in the morning.. makes me feel more en femme...Love femmeE
I'm also into the morning/night routine of using a moisturizer/toner. I've noticed that it takes less foundation to give me a "finished" look. It's also helped tone down some of those "age lines." 🤣
My challenge is always eye liner - declining vision and not having the steady hands I used to have when I was younger make it impossible to use a liquid liner pen. I'm going to experiment with powder but in the meantime just use a gel liner pencil.
A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do to look pretty!
I recently started using a Retinol treatment on my face every other night, alternating nights with a hyaluronic acid cream. I also now use a LaRoche Posay cleanser and I can feel my skin getting softer.
