Hi,

I would like to get myself quality breast forms and think I've decided on Amolux diamond. I'm struggling a bit with sizing and wondered if anyone could help. I have A 40" band size and have always worn a C cup and think I've  been happy with this with no one passing comment to me on too big)too small. I'm 6'2" tall and wouldn't really know if my shoulders are broad or not.

Because it's an expensive purchase I want to make sure I get the right size.

I started by remeasuring my bra size and discovered lots of contradictory advice with some saying to add 4" to band size etc but reading around the subject I understand that advice is old-fashioned advice and just to use the actual measured size (and +1 if an odd number)? I then found a UK site with an amolux size calculator that added 2" when calculating bra size and so sm confused whether it is actually a thing that should be done for breast form sizing?

So a 40c amolux diamond seems to be a size 8. If I push it to a 40d then it recommends a size 9 and I'm not sure odd numbered sizing even exists - I don't seem to be able to find it for sale?

I'm pretty sure that some girls in here must be wearing amolux and so would love to hear your advice when it comes to sizing.

I guess my final question is more generally for other tall 40"+ chested girls and that is what cup size is considered "everyday look"? I guess that's an impossible question but hopefully you know what I mean.

Thanks in advance,

Megan xx

@meganstephens Megan, I have 38D and 40C Bras, ( 6ft, 183cm, 175lb, 79k) and use 7 & 8 Gold Seal GS100 from BFS. The 8 is a little big in 38, fits perfect in 40C, I prefer the 7 in both Bras for everyday.  Some dresses look better with the 8. You are going to love your new forms, the weight, when your arms brush against them, and most of all the look.

@meganstephens

I did a quick scan of this thread and saw that you have a pair of forms now that you don't care for.  That actually could be helpful.

If you are happy with the size of those forms; if they take up the proper volume in your bra cups; you can use them for fairly accurate bra sizing.

Do a search for A Bra That Fits (ABTF).  It's a website that has one of the most accurate calculators you'll find anywhere.  Their forum is massive and very trans/CD positive.

The bra size you get using the ABTF calculator is a very good starting place.  You'll be in the ballpark with most brands.  Obviously, there could still be some trial and error because of brand differences.

Once you know your correct bra size, it makes shopping for luxe forms easier.  The customer service staff at reputable retailers will be able to help you find the right size forms for your bra.

Hope this helps.

@lizk I did that recently with my latest bra purchase. I brought my forms with me and we could see how they fitted.

Nice Harriette.  A bra fitting by a trained sales person is the best way to get the correct size bra.

@meganstephens I’m jumping in with my own question that’s different from yours, Megan, I hope that’s ok. I’d like to get a subtle look and I’m trying to decide between a “breast enhancer” vs a size 4 breast form. I’m skinny and want to stay with my sortof athletic lesbian girl look. Is an enhancer worthwhile or should I go for an actual small breastform?

@greenann Base your decision on what kind of profile you want to have, at the time.

For example, if one lives in a cold climate, we can get away with hiding bigger forms under heavier coats and sweaters. Hot T-shirt weather would require many of us to be more discreet.

Having a variety of sizes of cheaper forms allow you to experiment and figure out which expensive form to buy.

@harriette Thank you, Harriette. I’ve been focused on how each would feel, but you’re right - my profile and being discreet are pretty important. If I’d been born cis, in that dream I’d be able to buy my bras at Pepper. So I think I’ll start out with enhancers 🙂

Hi Megan, I have Amolux Diamond size 8, which works well with me, I am a 38C. I have to say compared with other makes the Amolux Dimond is a tad bigger, so I think with a 40" band size you should be OK. As for 'everyday look' I think they would be fine. Bare in mind bra sizing can be different between brands, so you need to find what works best with you.....

@andreauk oh no, questions always lead to more questions... I have just noticed that there is an amolux diamond and an amolux diamond deluxe, are you able to shed light on which to go for? I'm intrigued by the adhesion used - is it just glue that is spread on the back? I also noticed in some of the product photos that there is what looks to be a clear plastic thing on the rear with raised bumps all over it, are you able to shed light on what that is?

Thanks again, Megan xx

@meganstephens It is not as simple as you might think is it? I bought mine quite a while ago, as far as I know they are not deluxe, you will have to study the information from the seller to find the difference. There is no glue used, it is just the surface if the back of the form will adhere to your (clean) skin, follow instructions provided with them. You will not be able to go bra less, as they wont stay in place without the support, particularly if you get hot. You must clean them after use, again follow the instructions provided, they usually come with cleaning solution and a soft brush (looks like a nail brush). After a while, depending on how much you use them ad how often you clean them, the backing will deteriorate and not stick so well, using SkinTac wipes helps but if you are wearing a bra anyway they will still have some adhesion and are Ok to use. The raised bumps are what makes it stick to your skin. Some people use medical adhesive, but you must have the remover, do not try to pull it off, with out using the remover solvent. I have never used adhesive (it is basically Super Glue) so never fancied using it. I hope this helps, PM me if you want to talk more about it.

@andreauk that's so helpful, thank you. I've asked a few questions to one of the shops and will share any reply. Megan

@andreauk I use the breast form adhesive from dress tech, they stay without a bra and I can pull them off and it doesn't tear off my skin unless I pull to fast.

@meganstephens if you spending a lot of money I would stay away from glue ons with the possibility of tearing the thin outer liner that holds the silicone in unless you plan on wearing them 24/7

Arbitrary sizing drives me up the wall!

Megan, there is nothing wrong with buying a few cheaper pairs of breast forms with which to experiment and learn. They aren't all that expensive. That way you can switch sizes and get it right.

I only deal with gram weights to get an idea of their actual size. When you have a form in hand, you can then measure how high they sit, too. These are not arbitrary numbers and you can define and compare each form with like-to-like numbers.

My various forms weigh roughly between 150g to maybe 400-450g, off the top of my head. That means that I can go from being nearly invisible, to whoa! Talk about being arbitrary! If you look at the variety of real women, though, they are exactly the same, only they can't so easily change their size daily, as we can.

I would recommend experimenting more and to explore the possibilities before plunking down a chunk of your good money on one item. You won't regret it.

@harriette hi, I have owned some midrange forms in the past (tear drop c cup) but I forget what brand they were. They wreck really good and I wish I still had them. A couple I years back I bought some from Amazon (d cup teardrop) but I'm less keen on them because they don't have a smooth silicone shell and appear more plasticky. They are also much narrower and definitely more perky and don't really suit me. I definitely want triangular forms this time. I'm actually tempted to try and find a stockist and see if I can go and try some of such a thing is possible.

Thanks Megan

@meganstephens At least you now have some experience to make a good choice.

The only problem that I encountered with  any of my cheap forms was when my wife grabbed what I was wearing and SQUEEZED! She burst one. 🤣

Hello there,

I have had a pair of C Cup? Amolux Diamonds for quite some time. Yes they adhere well, especially if you regular wash them with the proper cleaner.

But for a C Cup I find them on the small side.

I recommend you also consider Gold Seals from the Breast Form Store. OK they are not self adhesive, but the double sided tapes and skintac wiped work very well. I have not warmn anything else any time that I have "gone public" as I am sure I wont have any "drop outs".

OK I have a bra on as well. but I think you get my "piont"??

Caty.

Hi,

I don't think we can get Gold Seal in the UK. Interesting what you say about sizing of amolux diamond and something to consider.

I will chat to a UK supplier for their advice

Thanks,

Megan

Hi Megan,

Another member posted how she bought "IMHO!!" the best forms on the market second hand off ebay.

I speak of the Amoena "contact" Self adhesives, which new down here in Oz are Aud1,000 for a pair. She got them much cheaper of course. That's roughly 500 quid

Gold seals here in Oz are circa Aud500.00 (250 odd quid). But trust me they are worth it.I'm think on my 3rd pair, (been so long since the first lot, I've forgotten.)

Adhering with the double sided tape and skin tac wipes gives that lovely feeling of "hey I have boobs and they aint gunna fall off"

I'd check either the Canadian or US Breast Form Store websites. You may be surprised that even with shipping they would be OK.

Good luck

Caty.

I did start looking at Amoena as well but there were so many options my brain was starting to melt.

Full weight / light weight

Shapes, etc

I will look into shipping from US, etc.

Hi,

I spoke to the main supplier in Europe and they have advised that for my height at 6'2" and 40" under bust that a size 10 is what I'm after.

Thanks for everyone's help and advice.
