In the photo section of CDH, you see many of our ladies wearing anklets, self included. Moreover, I have worn anklets since my earliest years of crossdressing as a young boy. I think they are effeminate and call attention to our legs, shoes, and pedicures, which in turns says, "I am a girl."
The only negative experience I ever had concerning anklets was several years ago, when two girls told me they not only did not like anklets but had a low opinion of girls who wore them. I wrote this incident off as a one-time isolated incident, since I've never encountered anything similar before or after since.
What do you think of anklets?
I like ankles, Peggy Sue. For me is fashion. A jewel to adorn myself. I think that it has aloready lost the cultural meanings that it had in other lands (like India) where its use reflects availability or not for courtship. It is a beautiful jewel to decorate yourself and enjoy. Like a bracelet.
I used to wear ones made with chaquiras (I don't know what they are called in English). They are like a kind of little colored beads.
Peggy Sue -
I don't have one but do find them to be sexy. I need to get my jewelry making things out and make myself at least one.
Thank you for bringing this topic up.
XOXO

in some circles wearing an anklet has a sexual meaning. In some lifestyles a married women wearing one is advertising that they are available to other men for sex. the term is a “Hotwife” my wife at the time started wearing an anklet. I thought it was sexy. I found out later it was given to her by one of the men she was cheating with.
this may be the reason some women have a low opinion of women who wear them.

It is like wearing or not a wedding ring. A symbol. Anklets have been used for eight millennia. Mainly in Egipt and India at the beginning. . Wearing them as a sign of bond. With a lover a husband or no man It is also used on the left ankle as a protective talisman against evil spirits. Or as recognition of a connection with nature.

Peggy Sue, I'm with you. I love my anklets and I'm usually always wearing one, most of mine are silver and I have one that a friend had made for me but it's so light weight that I'm always breaking the clasp off it and I need to get it fixed again, it is one of my favorites.
Miss Peggy Sue, I have noticed in your pics that you are an anklet gal, me too. Innuendos aside, I have always liked the look of an anklet. The just look pretty and sexy, especially with a toe ring. When I met my wife, long ago in the 70's, she mentioned that she liked anklets but did not have one.
When we met I knew she was going to be my wife someday, and being the wonderful boyfriend I was - ha ha - I bought her an anklet for Christmas. She has worn anklets constantly since. Back then, anklets were not very popular unless you were a "hippie chick," and that is when some of the negative innuendos (swinger, loose woman etc.) were more abundant. She wasn't, we weren't, she just liked anklets and I liked seeing them on her. Over the years I have bought her several anklets, even one with small diamonds. They look pretty.
As for me, and my fem side, I like anklets too. About 10 years ago - even before I began crossdressing - I bought myself a "cheapie" gold colored anklet that turned my skin green after a few days of wear. I really liked wearing it and wifey thought it looked cute too. Several friends commented as well, none negative. So, I coughed up the bucks and bought me a pretty 3mm 11 inch gold, real gold, anklet that I have worn continuously for the past 3 years. In the summertime I even get a thin anklet tan line. Love the look and feel, my anklet makes me feel sexy and special. I love it!! Aside from my wedding ring it is the only jewelry I wear.
I am in sandals most all the time, with a nice pedicure, so the anklet adds to the visual appeal. Wifey says that I have "girls feet." Smile.
I agree with you Miss Peggy Sue, try an anklet, they look great and you may enjoy it. Just go with real gold, unless you want you skin to turn green.
Have fun.... Staci...
I love wearing mine! They make me feel so girly.
Love my golden anklet, make me feel more feminine, sadly my wife do not want one.
Yeah, I love anklets too, they are so cute and feminine! I have a couple that I got at Torrid, they fit great. I’ve heard the sexual references to them before, but don’t really care. I’m not wearing them anyplace that I think it would matter. I just wish I could wear them more often. I mean I can’t wear them with boots , ankle socks, etc. So for my typical styles, that doesn’t really leave me many opportunities.

I must apologize as I'm not sure if the reference anklets was ankle bracelets as in jewellery or socks; i'm assuming the former.
If jewellery, I have a few anklets I love wearing, i also think it is very feminine.
However, I can't find any concensus if there is a proper etiquette in wearing them, for example does it matter which ankle (right or left) you wear them on (or both ?), and is it a faux pas to wear them with tights ?
I love wearing anklets. I started wearing them when a friend I met on this site said she has worn them fore and sandals for year. I wear them on bare shaved legs. I also wear one with stockings or pantyhose and always on the outside. I think they are very feminine and sexy esapecially when I have had a pedi and mani.
I wear anklets and toe rings all of the time. I know in some places of the world, they have a negative connotation to them, but I just wear them and don't really concern myself with what others say or think.
Here is a nice article about the meaning of anklets through history…
