To start off here ive lostcabout 20 pounds by running.  As the weight dropped my chest became more noticable.  When running i control the bounce with a sports bra.

I have a natural 36b chest.  At work shirts show my headlights on all the time and i get nipple chaffe.  I've worn my sports bra a few times.  I get tired of wearing sports bras and got an underwire that i love but it gives me a noticeable boobs from the top and sides.  Is that just the underwire or are there better shirts to hide the front bumps.  Im a building inspector so jeans and a polo are daily attire.  Should i stick with sports bras?  Winter i wear coats so its not as big or a deal except in the office.  Thanks for any advice new to the bra thing since the weightloss

I wear a brallette most days, but i also wear an undershirt under my work uniform (its a pretty heavy fabric, so its hard to see any bra lines under it). Not sure how it would look under a polo. They give me enough support, and keep me from chaffing.

Im 41.5/38 for measuring, which is "supposed" to be 38C, they're definitely not c's lol. Wish they were though. Appearance wise, theyre more like a small B cup in my opinion. I havent tried an underwire bra though to see how they look.

Hi Melissa:

Congrats on losing 20 lbs!

I have the same gift. After talking to a bra store, they say I'm a 40C/D. I began to noticeably "jiggle" when I walk about a year ago. It's become an embarrassment. Like you my headlights are very visible. I apply lotion to prevent any nipple abrasions. I bled once after a 10K run and the pain lasted for days!

I no longer run, but do ride a bike and have ridden competitively in the past. And yeah, the more I workout the more obvious are my boobs! I don't wear any compression type bra anymore (don't like the feeling), but do wear a cycling jersey one size larger, but even that doesn't work much anymore. I now avoid group rides since I'm very self-conscious about my "gift". In male mode I wear cotton T-shirts one size larger in the summer, but even that is no fix. I much prefer the Fall, Winter and Spring since I like sweatshirts and jean jackets too.

HOWEVER, being a CD, it's kinda nice when en femme! I let them hang naturally, but have ordered a bra for an uplift to go along with my LBD!

If it helps any, I would never consider surgery to reduce my boobies. I've grown to like them tremendously and have made my peace with the world, even if I get a snicker or two.

Please let me know what you end up doing and how it works. And good luck!

Cheers,

xo Barb

I Don't think you'll hide much in a polo.  Ive grown fond of the open square bottom Tommy Bahama type shirt for summer. They are very loos and will hide most anything that you want to wear.

Melissa,

I am in a similar position. Unfortunately, I cannot bench help. I usually don't make much effort to hide my bra. And when I must not show my bra, I suffer through my day braless.

I am also an avid cyclist, and have worn a sports bra for years. It may have started to avoid chafing, but it is as much as for comfort and support as the aforementioned reason. I ride with groups all the time. No one has ever commented on it to me.  Also, it was in a cycling forum that I learned of wearing sports bras to avoid chafing.

Hi Melissa. I wear a bra daily underdressing and I've found a sports bra or bralette is the most stealthy of all. I love to wear underwire bras and usually wear them under a loose tee shirt without any problem. A soft A or B cup underwire bra will project less than one with extra material in the cups. I've been clocked wearing one that was obvious because of the folded material.

When underdressing with a traditional bra I only wear ones that have the strap adjusters on the front and not the back where they would be noticeable. I suggest you get polo shirts that are a size larger than you would normally wear. Dark colors hide more than light colors.

Hi Melissa,

Speaking from a drab mode perspective.

Use layers is my only suggestion to your concerns. I don't care too much about the size of mine - they're there but not massive and I certainly don't ever chafe. Sometimes I wear a stretchy vest top which defines things a bit better. They do get noticed - I've been ogled more than once or twice and I remember being 'complemented' on a nice pair. But that's some men for you. Clueless.

What makes me a bit self conscious is when I'm wearing a bra and see a bra contour, and strap bumps under lightweight summer clothing. I know to wear slightly thicker T's but do 'hum and ha' a bit and err on the cautious side.

Winter's a lot better, but I still haven't resolved the contradiction between wearing a bra and hugs from my best friend. Bras are quite easily noticed in a hug - lol, you might have spotted this. Of course there's a very simple solution to that one, but ... not quite there yet 😉

Hi Mackenzie,

It seems more and more sportsmen wear sports bras and it never draws comments. A bit like bikers wearing tights as an extra layer to keep the cold out. If it's a practical use, they don't think twice about what people might say.

Thanks for the replys ladies.  Excersising is no issue.  Sports bra to limit bounce and chafe.  Leggings or bike shorts, no one bats an eye.  That and bouncy mowing in a sports bra got me wanting to wear one all the time now.  I have a couple bralettes i can freely wear the adjuster bumps blend in great with my polos.  Ive caught a few "hey girls my eyes are up here moments" but thats more from my shirts being smooth and no nipple show.  My new underwire is a totally different story.  Its unlined but still gives me pretty good chest definition.  Figured its the underwire making it more defined.  Theyre so much cutier than the braletts and sports bra.  I get very self conscience around the construction guys.  I like my size and have embraced them but not ready to advertise wear a bra.

Lately I have been wearing my forms on my drive to and from work. I chose bralettes to hold my forms in place over a shelf tank(wore the shelf tank once and noticed it actually makes my chest larger without forms) and the straps just look like a tank under my work Tee-shirt. I work construction so if anything looks "off" you get called out immediately, so it must seem normal.

I wear a 38C bra often.  I am lucky enough to fill it pretty nicely.  Most of my bras are lace underwired.  I wear a vest every day and I have never had a issue with somebody noticing bra lines.  Just my way of feeling femme when I cannot dress.
