Hi all,
Just ordered a set of Vollance breastforms in B cup and accidentally ordered the wrong pocket bra size, far too small for my 42 inch band size. Would simply buying a regular bra or sports bra work almost as well for daily wear, or should I stick to a pocket bra?
Would Target or JC Penney have breastform pocket bras? I checked online but I couldn't find a straight answer. It would be quicker and easier to buy one in person than online.
Also, do you think I should move up a cup size to a C to make the breastforms look more natural? or is 44B a normal ratio for a wider-shouldered girl?
Thanks a bunch.
Cheers.
Hi Esther, I never use a pocket bra with my breast forms, I am not aware of the make of forms you are talking about, but wearing a full cup bra works very well for me. I have a 38 inch band size and wear B or C cup sizes (I have 2 sizes of breast forms) I would guess a C cup would look better, but it's all about how you feel, if your happy with a B cup then that's fine, after all not all GG's have a large bust!
I have never used a pocket bra either, regular bras have always worked just fine for me.
Sports bras, not so much though. The lack of cups lets the forms move around too much.
I also have really broad shoulders. Right now I have D cup breast forms, which have the right width but they project more than I'd like. I'd like to have some B or C cups that are wider than normal so they look right on me.
I have only used a regular bra or a sports bra with my breast forms, and I have have worn my forms on a general basis for the past 7 months without trouble. I have no desire for a pocket bra. To me, they look awful.
As for cup size, it is all about what makes you comfortable. I am a 48B or 48C which may be considered small for my frame. However, I have always been more attracted to the more athletic look with smaller busts. Hence, my preference for myself.

If you are near a SOMA INTIMATES store near you I would highly recommend that you visit them for a professional bra fitting session.
When my SOGGF 1st "outted me" by accident about 4 years ago that is where she took me to be professionally fitted for my own bras etc . as she found that Victoria Secret products were of poorer quality and mainly aimed at the upper teens and 20's gals.
I'm my SOGGF'S experience she says both bra and band sizes can vary significantly from one brand to another.
One brand you could be say for example a 42B but a 40C in another. Thus the reason why I and my SOGGF stick with SOMA INTIMATES.
I was professionally fitted and was informed that I would be best wearing a 38DDD FULL COVERAGE UNDERWIRED bra or a 38DDD underwired Balconnet bra.
One time my SOGGF decided that she wanted me to jog with her early one morning and had me wearing one of her crop top sports bra and shorts sets, I nearly had my forms fall out during return towards our home, when I bent down to tie my shoe lace that had come untied. So I wouldn't recommend a sports bra.
I have never tried one of those. With my one fascination being one piece swimsuits, I have tried different types of bras with them and found sports bras to be the best feeling type. I am still not really interested much in wearing a bra and prefer a swimsuit by itself. A couple of my more expensive Speedo swimsuits have a built in bra, and I am perfectly okay with that and am willing to buy more like them in the future.
Thanks for the question Esther, I myself have not used a pocket bra, I usually run around in the mornings in a sports bra that I took the lining out of when I got my breastforms. But one of the things I have found works well for me, is to massage in some hand lotion onto the chest area and let it dry somewhat. I makes the breastforms stick slightly, and then they stay where I place them. Love the natural feeling of them, by the way.
Before I found that trick, when I would reach over, they had a tendency to shift badly.
Currently using Gold Bond moisturizing lotion, but any lotion with Cocoa butter, will have the slightly sticky effect, I have found.
Hugs to all, Lili
I use a full coverage bra to hold my forms and haven't had any problems.

Would I be good telling them its for me at Soma? Are they crossdresser/trans friendly? How much would that cost?
Thanks.
Followed Tammie's advice and got a fitting from Soma, Couldn't have gone better. Got a 42C black bra that fits perfectly. Going to exchange the B breastforms for Cs as soon as possible.
Thanks for all your responses.
Cheers.
Thanks, Stephanie. I also have a 40-in band and have been honing in on D breast forms to present as 40C, although I also have been experimenting with C and DD forms with certain outfits. Great to hear confirmation from an experienced CDH'er!
I use that same brand form, have them in B-D sizes. I just use a basic underwire bra and off I go. I love my D cups the best, with a racerback 36-D Wacoal bra!! heaven.
Thanks, Lili, this sounds like a good piece of advice. Like you, when not using a pocket bra, my silicone forms tend to shift and migrate “toward the middle” giving me a “uni-tit” look – very unattractive. When en femme about the house, I pursue the same household activities as I would in male mode, and that entails a lot of arm movement, reaching up, etc.
I never wanted to have to deal with medical adhesive to hold the forms in place, so your idea for using Gold Bond moisturizing lotion might just do the trick. It’ll be on my grocery list for next week’s shopping. I’m assuming the lotion doesn’t harm silicone forms, and can be easily cleaned off.
Hi all!
great reading all this great advice! I like the idea of getting a professional fitting at Soma!
In the mean time I have been “borrowing “ my wife’s 36B bras for my “D” cup forms and it seems to work well!
I measure 33” so what forms should I be wearing? I would love a larger look sometimes! But for normal passing look these seem about right.

Well Camryn, I had the same concerns at first, but finally deciding that if the lotion was good for my skin, that it probably was okay for the forms. I have used this trick for quite a long time with no apparent effects, and I did check quite often at first for any changes in the forms.
The lotion is specifically Gold Bond Ultimate Softening lotion.
I hope that helps,
Lili
