Hello ladies,

I'm looking for some advice about purchasing a silicone breastplate. I currently own a pair of breast forms and I have a couple pocket bras to hold them. I haven't tried using adhesive with them..  plus they're pretty cheap lol I got them on Wish a few years ago so I would say that the outside layer looks really plastic and fake and they wouldn't look very good for cleavage. My partner bought me some lingerie that I adore, but wearing a pocket bra under doesn't look right, and I really want to upgrade my wardrobe to include some lower cut dresses and shirts. My question is, should I just find some better forms that I can adhere to my body, or look for a breastplate? I think one of the problems with adhering forms to my chest is that I have a chest tattoo that might be obvious I'm wearing forms if I go that route... But so far I've been pretty hesitant to spend the money on a breastplate; they're pretty pricy and I'm afraid the skin tone won't match well enough, or it won't fit properly. I would love advice and suggestions! Thank you

-Rilee

Go with the better forms.
A breast plate has lots of challenges including sweat and the need to hide the seam. Plus it needs to be similar to your skin tone. Some breast plates also don't have realistic looking skin so they may look OK in photos but not so much in person.

Forms can be used either attached or in a bra depending on the outer clothing. They really don't give you any cleavage though but you can create the illusion with some extra tape and careful choice of clothing.

I'd go with nicer forms that'll work with adhesive.  It'll be cheaper than a breastplate and far more comfortable.  Skin tone is less of an issue unless you wear a very revealing outfit.  Some of the nicer form have multiple skin tone options and can even do custom matching.  You can hide your tat with highly pigmented foundation.  Dermablend Cover Creme works well.  Makeup pros use it for exactly that purpose.

For me, I bought a full torso breast plate a few years ago.   I totally regret it; I wore it a few times, then it is now boxed and collecting dust in the basement closet.

A few issues worth mentioning with breast plates (depending on model that you get) :

- mine was full torso, so the skin tone did not match mine.  The breast plate was much lighter.

- the thickness of the silicone is an issue.  I guesstimate 5 mm thick.  You're thinking that isn't bad, but when the breastplate goes right up to your neck, it is incredibly noticable + the mismatched colour.

- it gets warm fast.   You're basically wearing a thick plastic coat.

- it was advertised as C cup.  I wanted something smaller but I couldn't find boob size small plus having the breastplate fit.  Now here is the issue, because I opted for a cheaper breastplate, the boobs did not feel and look natural whatsoever.  I picked silicone filled boobs, so it was heavy.   the boobs projected forward, if you look at a girl's boobs it doesn't project forward, it kinda oozes to the sides.   So wearing these it looked fake and heavy.

- the more expensive ones from reputable CDing stores look good online, but the pricetag alone puts me out of the running.

So I saved up for a pair (now 2 pairs) of good breastforms, and I love them.  One is B and the other C.  I used a pocketed bra, and these breastforms feel incredibly real, look realistic (they project at a wider angle not just straight forward), and bounce quite well.   To me those breastforms were a good investment.  I'm willing to forgo low cut blouses/dresses and cleavage for realistic looking boobs.  Besides, i'm sprouting some chest hair and it doesn't quite go with the femme look when wearing low cut blouses/dresses.

In conclusion, I really really regret spending the cash on the full torso breastplate.  I could have bought some really nice skirts, swimsuits, tops, .... you name it and received way better enjoyment than the breastplate.

I too purchased a breast plate which luckily complimented my skin tone. However, after a short period of time it got really hot and uncomfortable.  I ended up cutting the breast plate and turned it into a tank top so as to allow my skin to breath.  worked great during the winter outfits but with summer it cant be used as the lowcut blouses give it away. I now wear breast forms and will wear the plate in the fall.

I think the issue I've found with breast forms is that they all have some sort of plastic on the outside (at least all the ones I've found), which easily shows up as wrinkles when they aren't perfectly straight.. which would make them pretty obvious if I had anything low cut

I've got 2 kinds of forms, one set in a harness that are fisxed and one pair of loose forms that go in a pocket bra. Of the 2 I much prefer the feel, weight and comfort of the pocket bra although I want to invest in a bigger cup size. The harness on the fixed one is comfortable to wear but gets sweaty very quickly...so I can imagine how bad a full breastplate would be!

I would totally love some cleavage so I guess I might try adhesive on a bigger form at some point although it would have to be cotton filled because silicone is damn heavy!!

Bottom line it's about compromise. And cost. Silicone boobs can be expensive so if its just the look you're going for get cotton filled. If you're planning on allowing anyone near enough for a squeeze, get the silicone!

Hey Rilee

My advice is ... just don't! Spend the money on more expensive breastforms instead. You should be able to get two pairs in different cup sizes for what you'd pay for a breastplate, and honestly ... they feel so much sexier.

I got seduced by the idea of a breastplate. I found it hot, uncomfortable, top-heavy and sweaty. It didn't move in a natural way and although it gave cleavage, the cleavage looked entirely fake. Plus, as other girls have said, you have the problems of hiding the seam around your neck and matching your skin tone. Done right, breastplates can look great ... but I'm not a fan!

It's only cheaper breastforms that have that annoying plastic coating that wrinkles. More expensive forms don't have that. In a decent pocket bra (e.g. BIMEI) they will sit nicely on your chest and jiggle and move in a very satisfying way *grins*. No wrinkling involved. You won't overheat, you won't sweat, you don't have the problem of matching skin tones, you won't feel top-heavy, you won't have to hide a seam! So ... *counts* ... win, win, win, win, win.

I have C and D cup forms, and I love them.

Yes, they mean that you can't wear anything TOO low cut, but you can still get a reasonably plunging neckline with the right dress.

Back away from the breastplate!

Hugs

Ellie x

If your just a crossdresser then stick to breast form aka silicone boobs aka inserts. If your trans then grab hormones.

Have a look at Pals by Super Gel Products. They are a soft, solid silicone without a polyurethane skin so there is nothing to wrinkle, rupture or leak out. They claim 10 year life and I’m at about 6 years. I see no reason to suspect that they won’t last at least 10 years. You can sleep in them with no problems and I often do.

Mine weight about 2 pounds each so they are beyond the capability of adhesives. I wear them with regular underwire bras by Goddess with no issue. They come in various colors.

For the size that I have, they were a bit over $200 when I bought them. They are now $249. Seeing as how I went through 3 pairs of the skinned variety at around $70 to $80 each over about 3 years, I’m ahead of the game.

With the skinned variety, I’ve had the skin rupture as well as having the skin seam come apart. I patched them with tape, Band-Aids or silicone sealant. All eventually failed again as the rupture grew or happened in a different place. The problem is that in order to get the softness and compliance, the skin is very thin and and the seam is very narrow. That’s why you can’t sleep in them. There is just too much pressure.

If you look at my Public Photos for one labeled Veteran’s Day 2018 or the one labeled Home After Meeting, they give a representative view with my forms. Bra is a 38H.

Here’s an unaddressed idea!  Drinking!  A plate will prob be so snug that it will affect alcohol tolerance. I got really queasy and had to remove the thing…off comes wig and all. Thankfully I made it to the end of the night but I didn’t make it back to my hotel yet. Had to cobble it all together and put the plate in a bag….then Uber.  Being HOT, sweaty and tipsy is not fun. Time wearing.. about 8hrs. I was doing so well that this snuck up on me completely!  But I’m scared now cuz it took vodka and made it act like tequila until I got the constricted thing off!  Instant relief!

now answering the other side of things because I too looked from the window of possibility that you are now. It had taken me two tries. And now I think I can improve on a third plate to get a little better but now I’m looking back through that window at where I once was for no sweating etc.  A stay in your avg hotel AC (72F) and no sweat while moving about a party. But I couldn’t make it at 75F deg.  It IS HOWEVER so sexy to wear that low cut dress to show the cleavage. Can’t be beat.  This addiction that we share is fed by being sexy and sometimes I’d say there is no other way.   Too bad all this is mail order.  Buying three plates at $100 in trial would prefer me to buy in person and just pay the $300 that I could try on in person.

if the retailer doesn’t publish good dimensions on chest size for example, my snug problem above, move to one that does.  You can have good luck on eBay

im looking back to individual boobs cuz my chest could probably split the dif and give cleavage.  So I’m here reading to help me decide.

One thing I found with the  breast forms I had was how they fit in the bra. Some forms, either with or without a poly outer skin, would not fill the bra cup completely, therefore creating a gap in the cup fabric that could form a fold. This folded cup fabric would then show thru a blouse. Started using a different brand of bra and the issue wasn't there any more. Look to see how well your form fills up the cup of the bra you have. If there are gaps on either side of the form while in the bra cup, while you're wearing it, you may need a different brand bra. Changing the brand of the bra is less expensive than getting different breast forms.

On the breast plate question, I don't use the one I purchased because of the sweating issue. Even in the winter I would sweat when I wore it, so I couldn't imagine how much worse it could be on hot humid days in the summer. Or in a warm room . And my skin shade doesn't match much of anything out there, so I just don't use it.

I also have some of the Pals breast forms, which have no outer poly layer. I love them even though they are more solid than the other forms with the silicone jell in the polyethylene covering. There's no outer covering to rupture. And they are fairly easy to take care of. I have a couple of different sets of these. Some are just for every day which could also include working in the yard a little. The other set is used only when going shopping or to an appointment when I dress up more like for going out in general.

I also have some of the more usual silicone forms with the outer layer of polyethylene. Most of those I've had, have ruptured but I wear them a lot and have worn them to sleep in as well. The best part about them for me is they clean up really easy and don't discolor from sweat or dirt. When I'm working outside in the yard or on a car, I'll get dirt all over me at times as well as particles of yard debris or dirt and maybe rust from under a car. These forms are easy to clean off  and they dry fast. Most of these forms I have found on Amazon at less than $50 bucks.  So if I need to replace them every 2 or 3 years when they rupture, I look for the cheepies again. Better than replacing the pricey type that often. I have some of the more costly silicone forms and to me there isn't much of any difference between the cheap ones and the expensive ones. But that's just me. Thanks.

Rilee,

I have found myself in the same situation as you. I have looked at breast plates as well and wondered about them. I have seen many discussions here on the site and they all say the same thing, Stay away from breast plates. I also would like to wear some lower cut outfits that I have, all of my forms are self adhesive and I have found them to work pretty well. I have had a few issues with sweating and them sliding down on real hot days. I usually wear a bra that doesn't have a liner and the forms I have fit them nicely. I have A,B, C and D sizes all triangle shaped. I also have tattoos on my chest that the forms cut into and it also keeps me from wearing anything to low cut. I have recently been looking at forms that are like a bra that covers you from the neck down to just below the breast line, I am still debating on getting one, I am not sure how it will match or if it will be just as hot as a breast plate.

I would recommend both. Each have their downsides though. I have two styles of forms- teardrop and triangle . Neither are great for styles where you plan to show cleavage. If you have a little extra chest skin up top it is possible to combine a waist cincher , adhesive cleavage creator and a tight bra to push the skin up to form some natural cleavage. Add some foundation between the newly created cleavage and shade with some dark eyeshadow to accent the inside edges of the breasts . Then add the forms in the bra to fill out your bustline.

breastplates are great for more revealing looks but the drawback is the neckline will need to be covered (by a scarf or chunky necklace) if it has a low neck opening or if it has a high neck there will be an exposed silicone edge where the top of the neck meets under the chin. This will be very noticeable from the sides when you turn your head . If the color of the plate is close to your skin tone and you don’t plan to be too close to anyone they can appear very realistic from short distance and the silicone filled option adds some realistic weight. They do get hot though. Hope this helps.

Hi Rilee I have both. The breastplate is OK for an hour or two but those things are HOT. I set my house thermostat to 65 once and wore my breastplate to bed. When I took it off the next day I had this nasty radioactive red rash that took several days to go away. Your skin totally can't breath. I glue my breastforms all the time and like the results.
