I never thought that I'd ever post in the fashion and beauty forum 🙂
For many years, I've only possessed two brushes. A normal "vent" brush for every day hair brushing, and a small foldable brush to keep in my handbag (purse)
I had my hair cut shorter at the start of January. I no longer have the option of tying my hair back for male mode, so I have a permanent female style. I like to have to bottom of my hair curl up. I think it's cute, and it was never an option when it was longer.
The days of only two brushes are long gone. I now have four, plus one in at least three bags. I have my vent brush. I have a detangler brush, I have two round brushes one large diameter, one smaller. I prefer the latter. On top of this I now have a hot air blower brush, and a heated brush. I use these purely for curling my hair after I've washed it. The other round brushes are for when my hair is dry. I spray hair spray on them, and curl my hair on the brush and the hairspray keeps the curl in place.
I really recommend the hot air blower brushes. They usually come as a kit with interchangeable heads. They can be used as a hairdryer. What I like about these is you can form the curl on a cold brush, turn the machine on and hot air then sets the curl. I find that with the other heated brush, the brush being hot can straighten the hair as you remove it.
I've become very fond of my new hair. When I catch myself in the mirror (who am I kidding, I can't pass a mirror without having a look), it makes me feel really happy.
I've never really cared about my hair until now. It's come as quite a surprise 🙂

I love good hair days but hate the bad ones. Many times I will blow dry my hair by just leaning over and holding my head upside down and then directing the hot air stream to my scalp. That gives me a super fluffy and bouncy style. My hair has some curl so I'm usually looking good for about 2 days but then it goes dull and lifeless. lol May the follicle be with you! Marg
@dazzler My own hair is (and has always been) short. It did used to be quite thick and brush resistant, unless wet. (sigh) Less so now.
My wigs I prefer to comb. I feel it gives me more control for detangling. I have a slew of smaller combs for fitting in my clutches - never leave without one.
Actually I did once, an stopped at a store to get a pair and left the 2nd in the console of the truck. lol
