I've bought a bubble hem skirt. I'm not sure if it suits me, it if I'm perhaps to old for it. I do like it, but I feel that they are more for teenagers, not 57 years olds. My wife likes it, and says it suits me. She is usually very honest in how I look, but I'm not so sure.  I've posted a pic to my public pics. Could you take a look, once it's been approved, and give me an honest opinion? Do I keep it, or return it. I haven't taken off the tags yet as I'm undecided.

Do any of you own a bubble hem skirt? How do you like it?

Cerys

@dazzler - Wear whatever you want Cerys, and stick two fingers up at age. After all, Cher is 78 and she still wears short skirts.

This is part of a quote I've found from Billy Connelly...

You mustn't act your age. Act some other bugger's age. Don't do what a lot of people do: Surrender to old age, and start to wear old peoples clothes.

Always had a way with words did Billy  🙂

@sienna106 It's not the length, it's the style. The length is usual length of my skirts. What's the point in life of a man can't wear a miniskirt? 🙂

 stick two fingers up at...

I always wondered how this was used in a sentence. Thanks! 🤓

@dazzler As in real estate, think about location, location, location.

Where do you plan on wearing it?

If only at home, go for it. As you have on your T-shirt, be happy.

If you want to wear it while abroad, will it fit in with where you want to go?

I quickly had to change my buying of items and styles that I can't wear anywhere. Closet fillers.

@dazzler Personally I think that style is for the younger gals. But, you do you. If you like wearing it and how it makes you feel then do it.

I love shorter skirts, but getting older, they don't do me justice anymore. I still have them, love them and wear them at home. I just don't wear them out in public any longer.

@dazzler my personal opinion is if you like it and your wife likes it then wear it and whatever you want to wear

I've looked at the picture and I can say only that it wouldn't do for me as I am far too old and conservative.

Does that help?

Seen the pic and sorry but this skirt is for younger women, not 57year olds. But if you and your partner think it is ok then good luck and go for it

If you have the legs for it and enjoy wearing it - go for it. BTW I think you do have the legs! I'm older than you and during the summer frequently walk in a park wearing short shorts. I don't think age is the issue - comfort and enjoyment are the issues. You are not forcing yourself on anyone. Let them think what they may.

Listen to your wife @dazzler if she says it looks good.

I'm the last person to censure the wearing of short skirts. If it feels good, do it 🙂

@caroline2k It's not the length. I'm always wearing short skirts. It's the style. Nothing wrong with a short skirt!

Haha, yes. It doesn't seem too drastic a design, although floaty skirts can be a bit strange to get used to - I usually wear more figure-hugging designs and always feel a little more vulnerable in a floatier design.

As a good friend once told me regarding age and clothing styles: "if it speaks to you, you're exactly the right age!" BTW, you have great legs!

I had never heard of "bubble hem", but a quick search showed me everything from minis to below the knee skirts, all listed as bubble hem. Personally, I like my denim miniskirt, so I could see wearing a min bubble hem. The longer ones look pretty good too.
