So I’m thinking of getting earrings for the first time to add to my crossdressing outfit, however, as I still switch from male to female often, I don’t want to use real earrings as explaining holes in my ears when in male mode will be hard to cover up as nobody in my everyday life knows about Jayla. So I’m wondering if any of you girls have used clip on earrings, if so how were they for you? Are they worth the buy?

I use clip ons currently and have for sometime now. However they are very uncomfortable and easily lost. Like you I didn't want to have to explain away the reason.

However the more I go out as Trisha the more I want pierced ears. Again for comfort. Plus I can wear those big pretty dangly ones.

And as luck would have it my 18 yo daughter now wants pierced ears. And she is a bit nervous about it. I made her a deal. I would get mine done with her. Bonding moment and I get mine done with a built in reason. The things we do for our kids 😏

I bought some clip on earring converters from Amazon so I would have my Wife"s ample collection to wear.

I wore clip-on earing's for a while but found them so uncomfortable. I bought on Amazon convertors from pierced to screw on and found these to be much better. I do have both ears pierced but find that a lot of the earing's I want to wear do not have gold or silver wires or post's for in the holes. I am allergic to any other post's or wires

for me, a big YES on clip ons.

Like you, I can't get my ears pierced as I'd have a hard time explaining why i have a hole my ear lobe.  Plus, if you don't ear a pierced ear ring for a certain amount of time, that hole eventually fills back in.

The ones I bought I can wear all day without any pain or discomfort.  They are very light, a little more difficult to put on than the spring loaded clip ons but well worth it since I can wear them for hours and not feel anything.  The spring loaded ones I can mange 2 minutes before the pain gives me a splitting headache.  The magnetic ones are abit better, but after an hour it starts to hurt like crazy.

I used to like wearing the long dangly kind, but it kept getting tangled in my wig, so now I prefer the stud kind.

All the time.  They are all I use - for the same reasons as you.  It really depends on the earrings, but most have been comfy for long time wearing.  The best ones I have are older, given to me by a dear Sister Friend who inherited them from her Mom.  My friend has pierced ears, so she passed on all the clip ons to me.

I went with piercings.  I tried the clip-on and they hurt too much.  for some reason getting my ears pierced I never cared about what people thought.   I now have multiple piercings in my ears.  You have to do what you're comfortable with.  I have had the piercings for so long now I forget about them and have gone to several interviews for jobs with them.  If they noticed they did not give any indication that they cared. I didn't and i figured as long as one of us didn't mind I was fine with it.

When I was a kid I borrowed my moms clip-ons often, my remembrance of those experiences is one of pain that slowly grows from nothing to unbearable over the space of 30 minutes. I haven’t tried them since I was a teenager so I’m not sure if my tolerance for the discomfort has changed.
I’m kinda curious to try a pair now.

I have been using clip-on earrings forever. As noted above, there are a number of sources and solutions, but for me, my final transformation occurs when I clip on my earrings. I find it to be the final step that empowers my femme persona. Yes, they take getting used to... yes, they are uncomfortable at first.. yes, you can get used to them... and yes, they definitely add to the final touch! I know they're not for everyone, but I love love love my clip-ons!

I'm about to buy some myself. So I'll know how they are down the road.

I have many pairs of earrings and all but 1 are clip-ons. The one outlier is a screw-back that came as part of a set. Piercing my ears wouldn't be a problem, but due to arthritis I don't have enough flexibility in my shoulders, elbows and wrists to mount them.

One thing that I don't think many people know is that the paddle type can be adjusted for grip strength. If a pair grips too hard, that can be changed. I also buy silicone sleeves that go over the paddle. They are roughly 5/8" long by about 3/8" wide.

Hey there,

I work in a VERY masculine environment, fixing printing presses, turning wrenches all day.

I got my ears pierced and started wearing black carbon fiber looking studs in my ears most days at work. A few noticed and said "oh look at that..." or "were your ears always pierced?" but most didn't bat an eye.

If you want to pierce your ears, tons of guys have both ears pierced these days and nobody cares.

I tried clip ons and hated them, hence the real deal.

I love having the option to wear some cute little hoops or subtle studs, or even nice dangly earrings when dressed...

But you know the world that you need to blend into best... be safe and smart.

Have fun!

XOXO

Rayna

Jayla everyone has their preferences based on what is going on in their lives. I personally have had my ears pierced since the early/mid 90’s and have never had any comments. After they healed which required the obligatory period of 7/24 wear of studs I can go without for periods of time without worry of them closing. I did have clip ons prior to that and found them uncomfortable and unreliable. I wish you the best in finding what works for you.
