The friend that I came out to told me to get a corset to help me get the figure that I am looking for. I trust her totally and she has not been wrong with any of her suggestions. I have been looking but there are so many choices and none of them are inexpensive. I have been looking at hourglassangle.com. Does anybody have a favorite place or even type that could point me in the right direction? The Spanks that she told me to get are on the way. I always thought that I had a good looking butt. She informed me that boys don’t have butts. Any help would be appreciated. I have my eyes on a really cute purple cocktail dress that I want to look good in.
Octavia (the sister of Octavius Caesar, Augustus)... love your name!
The best corset is going to cost. It has to cinch you in tight which means your ribs are going to take some punishment and you may very well faint from time to time as the Victorian women did, with great frequency!
But... it gives such a wonderful figure! On the other hand a pair of self adhesive hips can give to the same figure with much less hassle.
The question is... do you want to go female as Burlesque? If yes.... the a corset is a must. If no then Purchase a good pair of silicone hip pads... see store for options.

- I can go without being able to breathe. When it is something that I want. I wrestled all of high school with broken ribs. I could never finish in the finals. I was always third. Thank you and I will look for your suggestion. I want that look.
If you liked the name how do you like the profile picture? Normally I would be the lady of the lake with Excalibur. But I am feeling lost now.
Darling Octavia... feel ‘found’! Try taking a real you photo to post here... nice to see who one is talking to!
Octavia, I am a fan of corsets and love the shape I get wearing them. I have found a product on Amazon that is super affordable compared to the "real corsets", real comfortable, does a great job shaping, and has proven durable. The title is Alivila.Y Fashion Womens Vintage Underbust Waist Training Corset. I have four of them in various colors and rotate them daily so as to let them 'rest' a bit after a day's wear. Hope this helps

Not yet Polly. I am just now being able to look at myself in the mirror. I like what I see but I am still not ready for photos. I know that sounds silly. Everyone here is so non-judge mental but for a very long time I could not look at myself in a mirror.
I needed time to get my look acceptable to me too, i totally get that. Don't post pictures before you're ready, sweetie!

Octavia - I've had very good luck with very effective steel-boned corsets from Glamour Boutique.
They sell a lot of different kinds, and you can get even the heavy duty ones for about $60 or so.
And they are made to cinch you in and hold you there. I get a fully 5 to 7 inches in waist reduction depending on how tight I want to pull it.
Good luck.

Hey, good morning Octavia. That is something I ran into as well, they were either really expensive, or cheap with a quality that reflected that. I found corset-story back in November and ordered 4 different corsets since they were running a buy 4 for the price of 1. I had questions about sizing so I chatted with an associate and she was great. I ended up getting 2 underbust and 2 overbust corsets and love them. Very good quality and steel boned, and they are actually quite comfortable. I am still not comfortable posting pictures of me in them on here just yet so I can relate, but maybe soon.
