I see most CD's on the internet that wear tight dresses and skirts, where as I prefer loose flowing ones but I don't see much of that, I have no hips or butt and wearing padding is a pain. What is your preference, I'm a big fan of Lark and Ro fit and flare dresses on Amazon and you can't beat the prices.

Most of the clothes in my closet as form fitting; i am a huge fan of bodycon/pencil style dresses/skirts.

I read somewhere that for clothing, balance it out, if you wear a tight top balance that out with a flowy type bottom, or vice versa - tight bottom but loose top.  If it is tight both top/bottom you wind up looking like a sausage.

I have on order a nice 1950s style dress from amazon, it is tight on the top but pleated and flowy on the bottom, this will be my first type of dress that is not bodycon/pencil style.

Most of the girls you see on the 'net are young, and they do prefer the sexy look (or as some would say, "slutty").  Most of us eventually outgrow this and try to emulate regular ladies.  I'm not a big fan of padding, either, but for other than denim skirts and GV jeans, they seem essential to the illusion for me.

Topside is where you almost surely need some help with your figure;  a padded bra may do it for you, and this is also my preference, though I do own a set of forms.  It's purely a matter of personal choice.

Amazon brands are a good place to start, but IMO, the quality is only so-so.  If you will shop in person, there are some great bargains to be found on the closeout racks at JC Penney and even Kohl's, following their shutdowns.

Wendy,

Thanks so much for posting about the Amazon brand flare dresses! I love the look, having found that tight dresses are fine for club wear, but create too much attention for blending in.

Do you find the sizes run true, or are do they tend to be a bit on the smaller size?

I'm 6 feet tall, and find arm length on most clothing to be a problem.

Your thoughts?

Dianne

For me, when buying clothes off Amazon, I always read the size charts.  Depending on the seller, sometimes they will have their own size chart (sometimes you will have to click on all the choices to find the seller's own size chart).  If it doesn't have a size chart I'll try and google the manufacturer's size chart, but if I have to do that then I usually take a pass on the item as it could wind up being a return item back to amazon.

Be familiar with your measurements, like bust (especially if you are gonna wear forms), waist/hip, and if applicable, shoulder distance.  For sleeveless, then that is not a concern, and if it is a flare type dress then hip measurements aren't a concern.

I try to stick with sleeveless, because then you are only dealing with bust, waist, and (if applicable) hip measurements.

I also read to the reviews and description, if the material is "stretchy", you might be able to get away with a size down.  The reviews also provides info on how the item fits.

I maybe super anal, but when I am interested in an article of clothing from amazon, i research and read all the reviews and specifications before adding to cart.  So far this has served me well as the clothings I have bought off amazon have fit just right or a tad on the large side.

I'm not big 5'-7" 145# so their large size fits me well, I have a very good set of modest breast forms so the top is fine I just love the swirl of a skirt or a dress.

I like Lark and Ro. Take a look at Rekucci. A little higher in price but worth it.

Hey girls,

When picking clothing, I always try to buy something that I can wear in public and pass as a GG.  I tend not to buy highly erotic, tight, fitted clothing, as I can't wear it in public and I got bored dressing at home.  Being trans in NI still isn't widely accepted, so even though passing isn't personally important to me, I feel it's necessary none the less.

Hugs,

Isabel

I kinda like everything but for different occasions. For going out in the day I generally like something modest that doesn't cling to me, but at night I like highlighting my legs and butt. I think they're both nice, so that's where I want people to focus rather than my face where I'm still practicing makeup. This mask thing is money, though, and I think I'll stick with it! During the day I normally wear big sunglasses to hide my face, too.

I also have different breast forms for different occasions. I have found some good black bodycon dresses that don't actually show much just because of the pattern and how dark they are. One is flowy on top but tighter on bottom with a two-piece look and the bottom material is thicker so it's very forgiving. I think I'll look for more of that type.

Wendy, thank you for the post! I too love the styles I just briefly viewed, and the items are most definitely price perfect.

I have one tight skirt and I love the way it clings.  But my preference is for long flowing dresses and skirts as I love the way they brush against my legs as I walk.
