I know a lot of us love pantyhose but I have always preferred the look of garter belts and thigh high stockings. They just look very feminine to me and I love the overall look. Am I alone with this?
If you are a garter and stockings girl, do you have a specific brand that you wear? The quality on Amazon seems to be hit or miss for garters and stockings. I'm not rail thin but it seems most stockings are either too small around the thigh or too big (i.e. designed for a BBW). For what its worth, I'm 6'0 and 220lbs.
@jessicacd289 Jessica, I used to be exclusively a garters and stockings girl, but as I’ve gotten older, I now also enjoy the ease and comfort of tights (pantyhose). Recently I have taken to buying stockings with integrated garters - these are now my preferred option. They have the comfort of tights, with the sexy feeling of stockings. I have no particular brand. They tend to be limited in colour (black or white), so for natural tones I still opt for tights or stay ups (with garter belts).
Any nylons on smooth legs …. what a feeling!

@jessicacd289 Whilst I am a tights wearer, I do possess several suspender belts. The best ones I have are 6-strap from What Katie Did and a 6-strap with metal clasps that came from Amazon.
Stockings - What Katie Did, Snag Tights, Anne Summers and Couture are all brands I've found make stockings long enough.
I'm less keen on hold-ups as they frequently slide down.

I’m with you on this Anna as I’m a tights wearer, but possess a couple of suspender belts. I’ve not tried a 6 strap one yet though.
I’m also less keen on hold ups for the same reason as you.
They just begin to slide down after a while, and that’s even with the elastic at the top feeling tight enough to be uncomfortable!
@lucyb112 just a tip for you which my SO recommended and works for me ...buy large stockings and.... moisturise your legs/thighs, it helps the elastic to adhere and hold.
Obviously, lace tops are preferable but are hard to source.

@jessicacd289 I'm a pantyhose girl. I began wearing stockings and pantyhose at 4, but preferred pantyhose because they stayed up by themselves and there was more of that wonderful silky fabric.
When I began dressing in public, I noticed a sexy look that some girls wore. It was showing garter and stocking tops with a short dress or skirt. That was late 70's, early 80's. I nearly lost my mind. I had to wear that.
I had several pairs of garter stockings and thigh highs. I always got thrills from wearing them, especially sliding silky stockings up my legs and hooking up the garters. I would literally tremble as I was doing it. And what a thrill wearing them. The look, the feel, the gently tugging garters was mind blowing exciting. But I didn't wear that out because I loved showing lots of leg, and that usually required sheer to waist pantyhose. Wearing thigh highs or garter stockings would require longer dresses.
But now I could wear my garter or thigh high stockings and show off the garter tops with my short dresses. The excitement and anticipation over doing this was insane. When I did it, the thrill was absolutely incredible.
I was still a pantyhose girl and loved showing off my legs in sheer to waist pantyhose and a short dress. But when I wanted to raise the thrill level to off the charts, I would put some stockings over the pantyhose.
@pattyphose Patty, I'm a lover too of Garter belts and stockings especially with a skirt that has a thigh high cut in them ... that way when out, others can get a glimpse....i enjoy making the odd check to ensure the clips are still in place.

@jessicacd289 I love garter belts and stockings! In my case, its one or the other....pantyhose or garters/stockings. I've never had much luck with thigh highs since they always don't fit my thighs right and fall down. Makes me wish that my thighs were bigger...along with some other parts of my body!

@jessicacd289 I wear Lasenza gater belts and stockings I love wearing Victoria secret's pink thongs with them. I buy resolve thigh highs stockings from Amazon and I aboustly love wearing them. They are very comfortable and hold up to each wear. I definitely feel very femmin when I am wearing them. I really love wearing them all day and they fit perfectly with my garter straps and I was happy with my stockings staying up up all day with my garter.
@jessicacd289 I know they say it’s more sexy to wear thigh Highs garter in stockings But for me, it was always pantyhose my panties pantyhose half slip and a silky dress. Every time I sat down I felt so girly gives me chills even thinking about it right now lol love wearing pantyhose panties half slip a nice silky dress OMG.
I'm a confirmed tights - pantyhose! - girl, but every now and then enjoy wearing stockings with a suspender belt or a basque. There is something very different and thrilling about how they feel and of course they can look pretty good too!
I tend to wear them over a pair of glossy, sheer to waist nude tights (I have a couple of pair from which I have removed the gusset for 'access purposes') as I love the look of shiny nylon above the welt of the stocking. I'm not a fan of hold-ups particularly - they generally tend to slip down nyloned legs! - although I have several pairs I've acquired over the years which can be persuaded to attach to the suspender clips.
As far as brands go, I am a complete novice, although I do like CDR, Wolford and Falke glossy ones if I can find them for the right price 🙂

I'm both. For day to day practicality its heavy duty tights in the winter and pantyhose in autumn and spring. Too hot for anything in our Australian summer.
But when Caty times comes along stockings and suspender belt every time.
I love the tugs and feel of the belt, (six strapper is a must by What Caty Did or Kiss Me Deadly, (both are UK brands.)
Levante stockings to go with the belt. I can never get thigh highs to stay up, so I dont buy them.

I'm strictly a thigh high girl, I have a few pair of pantyhose but I much prefer the look of a thigh high. Never found a garter belt that looked good on me but I should keep looking because there are some very pretty ones out there. I have found and now it's the only one that I wear because they stay up all day and night are from, VienneMilano. They are a little spendy but well worth the money, make sure to use their sizing chart though.

I only wear thigh highs. I do have a couple of garters and stocking, but prefer thigh highs. I only wear Wolford. Expensive yes, but they are so luxurious and feel wonderful.

To address the main topic, I don't layer stockings over ph, but I can see why some do - sometimes for the look if there's a pattern on the ph, sometimes for the coverage (to hide unshavable leg hair), and sometimes for the feel.
I too am a huge fan of the look of suspenders and a stocking welt. I find it hella sexy. As to stockings, my faves are Gio fully fashioned, but they are quite spendy - usually ~$50/pr. I have 3pr that I bought back when they were more like $30/pr.
However, I did find some very nice not-100% nylon stockings on Etsy at a store name 'Nylonica'. They're very durable and come in lots of colors and fit me well and I'm 5'11" 205. They run ~$14/pr.
I have a 6-strap garterbelt (and IMO you should always use a 6- or 8-strap - anything more is just for show) that I got on Amazon. I've had it for...hm, probably 3 years now and it's held up just fine. I can give you the link if you wanna PM me. 🙂

I absolutely love stockings and thigh highs. I think they look and feel so sexy! They go well with my short or long skirts, but I know they aren’t always appropriate for some outings. Ill wear them under a longer skirt as to not draw any attention if I’m out and about.
I also love to wear tights or pantyhose with other outfits, especially with my fall attire.
For me I feel very fem in either! 🥰

I wear a 6-strap garter & stockings sometimes, pantyhose sometimes and thigh-high stay-ups occasionally.
My first love was a gorgeous pink OBG with garters that my mom had. I still remember the day I first tried it on and how I struggled to connect the clasps to the sheer stockings I was wearing. From that day on OBG's and garter belts hold a special place in my heart as do those lovely stockings.
Fast forward to the rise of pantyhose. How simple a concept and how rewarding. One single item encasing my legs and eliminating the need for panties. The sleek appearance under tight pants with no VPL. Then that moment when your nail meets the nylon and ruins your favorite pair. Unlike stockings you can't replace one leg and move on. You must replace it all or relegate them to be worn under pants, never again to be the ones to make your legs look magnificent as you wear your favorite dress or skirt.
I love pantyhose and wear them at least a few times a week except in summer. I have them in many colors and styles and some in patterns as well. But, there will always be a place in my lingerie drawer for my beloved garter stockings. Sheer toe, reinforced heel and toe, seamed, cuban heel and all the others will always be there for when I want that special feeling of femininity that only a pretty garter belt and a beautiful pair of stockings can provide.

I am absolutely a garters fan, from the Rago waist trainer to dainty sweet garter belts and even the open bottom girdle I thrifted as Sheryl mention above. Then the whole world of full fashion stockings to some bright coloured stockings my wife gave me for Christmas that are so fun to play the Andrew GN a la fall 2018. Just so much fun!
I'll occasionally wear tights, mostly in the wintertime, otherwise I'm strictly stockings and garters. I just find them so much more comfortable and the style suits me. I wear several different brands of stockings. I like Berkshire when I can find my size, I wear MissO a lot because the colors are so great, and a few others. My go to source is a US-based dot com called hosieree. They have a gigantic selection of hose, tights, stockings, etc. I've ordered from the many times and they've always been great. Unless it's just in the bedroom, a six strap garter is a minimum. If I'm layering, I use an eight strap garter. I love my stockings and tights!
