Years ago I bought a pair of GGs trousers, loved them so much that I wore them out. They were black, straight legged, cargo pants and although the inside leg was only 29", they were made for a girl wearing heels so actually fit my 33" leg quite well. I decided that it was time to start again because I am getting tired of my man jeans hanging baggy at the crotch. I decided on these.....

They arrived today and I was pleasantly suprised that they fit me very well indeed. Right length at my shoe, nice non-baggy between my legs and no sign of any bulging at the hips. I am now on tenterhooks because I washed them and they are now in the dryer. I hope they don't shrink, I cold washed them and cool drying them so, fingers crossed. If they still fit after that, I am going to get another pair.

I have 3 pairs of ladies' trousers from JCP, which I wear whenever jeans are out of order. (Unless I'm in a skirt, that is).

I have a few pairs of ladies' pants, actually wore one of my favourite pairs out for my first time in sort of womens clothing. They are a really nice pair of sheer, wide leg pleated pants. One day I will actually tell you all this story 🙂

While I have a number of pants and jeans, the time that you would want to wear them during the daytime is fairly limited here in the desert. Here it is the middle of November and we’re not there yet. However, we have had some overnights in the mid-40’s, so that would qualify. For the rest of the year I’ll be in shorts, short skirts or short skorts.

As far sizing, anyone who thinks there are standard sizes in women’s clothes is living in a dreamworld. I have pants in size 14 and 16; blouses/jackets in size 16 and 18. Even if there were standard sizes, once you throw in Fit, all bets are off. I have a tank and blouse set that was given to me some years ago. Theoretically, it is a size 8. The blouse is fine, but if I put the tank on, I dare not breathe as the seems will likely blow up. The tank is probably close to size or just a bit over. The blouse was designed to be quite oversized...

DeeAnn,
I have been lucky (so far) with jeans. Anything labeled 12 short will fit. Trousers need to be tried on first; and I have found tops to be dependent on the brand label. And if you are buying online from a Chinese vendor, all bets are off. I have a lovely jacket and a top which are labeled 2XL; but the jacket is a Large and I think the top is really a Medium. It's a tight fit, but is was too pretty to send back.

Yes, what’s interesting about those offshore web merchants is that the products offered are essentially the same and the web sites are structured very similarly. I have bought a few things but you really have to check the measurements.

The only thing that I will buy sight unseen are Gloria Vanderbilt Amanda jeans in size 14. No problems with the fit! Anything else, not so much...

I shop Etsy a lot and to a lesser extent, Poshmark. I never know how folks sell stuff on Poshmark as so few list actual measurements. Evidently people think there are standard numerical and letter sizes, but that doesn’t exist. I have pants in size 14 and 16; dresses in 16 and 18. Also, you have to factor in fit: Bodycon, traditional fit, oversized, etc. If people list something in letter or number sizes, I won’t even both to ask unless it is something that I an REALLY interested in. I’ve also seen question go unanswered for months. Amazing!!

Hey DeeAnn,
I am so wanting a pair of Gloria Vanderbilt's! A size 14 COULD work, but to be safe I'm leaning to 16. Better a little big than a little small. I like the medium blue. My bream outfit is jeans and heels. I have a great pair of nude pumps that would really work with those jeans.
Soon.

There are two things that I have been avoiding: pants and heels. Yesterday while at Wal-Mart I saw the cutest pair of plaid pants, I love plaids and other patterns like Polka Dots. I wanted them but held off because of my body shape, I wanted high waisted. After this post I’m wondering if that was a defense mechanism.

Kohl's has a good price on the Gloria Vanderbilt jeans right now; I grabbed a bight red pair, to match my red cashmere turtleneck, when I was in-store to pick up an order yesterday.

Be SURE to check the measurements chart! Also, note that they have a bit of Spandex (can’t remember, either 2% or 5%) so that can make a nice difference with the fit. Sometimes they get down to the $15-$20 range. Just looked at the CostCo site and their current price is $17; only 3 colors though. The DEAL a few months back was 2 pair, white and a dusty rose only, for $20. I bought online, but I don’t know if there was a similar deal in store...

My wife bought me A few pair of ladies trousers several years ago, one had side zippers the others were pull on, I found them comfortable and only wore them around the house. about that time I bought women's jeans and found about the same as men's. Fast forward about three years ago I was helping my daughter clearing out some brush and she was making fun of my man jeans calling them bagey, I laughed it off at the time but it bothered  me I guess. Several weeks later my wife and I were shopping at A vanity fair outlet I decided to try ladies jeans on and was I surprised just how comfortable they were and bought two pair. my wife said they  looked good on me, I liked the way they fit and they didn't dig into me while sitting. From that time on I have only wore women's jeans and no one has never noticed them. I now have about twelve pair and have also have bought several pair of ladies trousers and love them.

Really thinking about wearing women's pants myself. Very unhappy with men's jeans lately - too baggy or too skinny for my big legs or not sturdy enough. I know it would not be a big deal to wear something from another part of the store. More colours to choose from which is extremely important. I just find myself shopping with my wife more often and much as I think she would be okay with me in a women's label, I think she would prefer to not watch me buy them.

On top of that un-passable trousers have gotten extremely appealing to me, especially something in the way of flared leggings. Something form-fitting and stretchy that's a little more form that function. Also satin-y hippie pants! I am getting more and more envious when I see women in those. Hopefully I will get back into performing again one of these days and I think some things like that ma be all right onstage.

I have a favourite pair of women's black jeans which I have worn to death. I got them on a charity shop ages ago and didn't realise they are a sort of denim lycra all over stretch material. I need some new ones to replace them. I also have proper blue denim below the knee baggy denims with a large front tying denim belt which I can get away with in summer. Perhaps next season I will be brave enough to get a kilt or pleated skirt that will catch the wind

Back in late 60s we would  put new jeans on and soak in the bath to get them to shrink to fit. Indigo dye would wash out any the bath need  a clean plus I had blue legs
