I have been dressing on and off for so many years, purging things then rebuying things because I was unwilling to accept myself. I feel as part of my journey I should start moving forward from just bras, panties, and lingerie.
I recently just bought a silk pajama set and a pair of leggings online and I am feeling proud of myself. So i just have a few questions for you girls...
If you did start out small how did you know when to get more femme clothing? What did you first buy? and if you have what was the point where you felt more comfortable with makeup and wigs and shaving?
That was a lot of questions sorry I'm still new here. 🙂
Timeline was like getting dressed in very slow motion🤣 (a year or two)
1.lingerie
2. A dress, then another,
3 Shoes, then another pair, then another pair...
4.Make up, then more, and more, and more🤣
5.Wigs
6. Joined CDH, wanted to go out in the big wide wide world, so
7. Jacket
8. Accessories, jewellery, purse, scarves, shape wear, etc
9. More relaxed outerwear, separates, women’s jeans, blouses, sweaters, tees, pants, skirts etc.
10. Perfume, and other gorgeous smellies.
The journey continues...
love

Hi Montana,
This is all possible because of the Amazon locker delivery system. I have not, and will not, come out to my wife. I know she would not accept, much less support, my feminine side. Montana, I believe that I am 50% woman. I love it and I will NEVER give it up.
My wife makes several trips a year by her self so these are the occasions when I can really put on my Jessica.
My first adventure was this past Spring. I first ordered heels, then I ordered pantyhose, then a bra.
I repeated the process in July. As far as dresses, I "borrowed" a few from my wife's collection.
As far as how much stuff, Montana, it depends on your storage situation. I have none so my stuff has to be tossed.
Jessica
For me, I bought my first (two actually, still wear them) bra a year ago, but I had borrowed my wife's before that, and as a youngster, my mother's.
The first real piece of outer clothing was a black faux leather mini skirt, there's pictures of me wearing it on the forum here. Cut just a few inches above my knee, but not so short that I can't wear it out places. Then a red t shirt which was my first in store purchase. Though I've lost track of how many things I've bought since then, I still love that skirt. Partly because it was my first, and partly because it is nice, and is very comfortable to wear, and have received compliments about it.
Then some tops, more skirts, more bras, lots of panties, finally a dress. Jeans, the usual blue, then pure white, and then a jet black pair, snug and stretchy.

I am more of a homebody so after having bought the essential underwear my first real purchase was at old navy. 2 pairs of jeans, 2 t shirts, and 2 sweaters. After that I was over to Payless and found a cute pair of booties in my size.
I started with ladies' tees, then bras. As the urge hit, I added panties, ladies' jeans and shoes - all kept secret. Only recently, I accepted myself as a CD, added wigs and makeup, and began shopping openly for women's clothes. You know when you need more, and I believe the key is just to accept yourself and go with the flow.
Hello Montana; Your story is so similar to many of us here and your questions are not uncommon. I started playing "dress-up" at age 8 or 9 with dresses, slips, and panties. As time went on, I'd try on female clothes that I had access to. In late 2015 my wife suspected I was trying on her intimates, which I had, and she told me to stay out of her clothes. I knew I needed to start buying my own. I started with 1 panty. Early 2016, I accepted myself as a crossdresser and set a goal to acquire what I liked from when I played "dress-up". Through self exploration and advice from others, I slowly added: bras, garter belts & stockings, a wig, shoes, and breastforms. I've been shaving for CDing since 2016 and 2019 I've had full make-up done twice. I now realize I'm gender fluid: a male with a female spirit and I have a fem wardrobe with everything a lady needs.
This is your journey and only you can decide what steps to take and when. Whatever you elect do, my best advice is consider what you want to accomplish and set goals to strive for. If you have questions or need advice or support, you can reach out to many of us here on CDH. I wish you good fortune.
Just wanted to thank you all for your replies. I am feeling much more comfortable seeing others being in my same situation. Especially seeing that my progression is not much different than all of you. I really appreciate it and I love you all <3
