Sometimes I do. I just will add a bobbi here and there to help hold my hair in place.

Hi Rachel

Hope you are well.

I bought a fascinator in the sales last month and absolutely love it.

It fits amazing and as Samantha rightly said, keeps the hair in place brilliantly. Thinking about investing in a new one or a proper hat.

Hugs

Hats are purely functional for me.  When I lived in NY, I wore one to stay warm.  Now that I live in SoCal, I wear one occasionally for sun protection.  I've never worn one with a wig though.  It would be too hot most times of the year.

But you got me thinking.  Opening day at Del Mar would be perfect for an over-the-top hat adventure!  Dressed to kill.  Killer heels.  Big hair.  Bold makeup.  Cocktails.  Big glamorous hat.  Hmm....

I just bought a "hat wig" on Amazon. The hat and wig are one piece. It should arrive tomorrow. It looks cute! Time will tell how well it works!

Great question!

I love wearing hats and have numerous ones to go with my retro outfits.

We often go to period events in the UK which revolve around 40’s 50’s and 60’s fashions, so have hats to go with these periods, along with the right bag, gloves and shoes!

There are some photos in my profile and ‘private’ section which give an idea of which hats I wear

hugs

Dawn

I have a few ladies beanie / bobble hats, but I don't wear a wig, and have an androgynous hair style instead

I don't have any wigs. But my hair is near shoulder length. I find a hat accentuates my feminine hair / head / face appearance.

Rachel,

I do most definitely!

I usually go for a wide brimmed "sun hat" style. It helps keep the wig firmly in place, and gives you some extra cover from prying eyes. Where wigs can be a giveaway is at the roots, which are covered by the hat. I also find having the wide brim to hide behind if I need to get someone's a little too intense gaze off my face is ideal.

And they look nice and very feminine! Just don't forget you'll need a bigger one than normal because of the wig.

I am very curious about those hat wigs too, as they look like something I could quickly/easily throw on to try to go out. I wonder how washable they are, and still look good? Specifically, I would like to drive to a different area, and then go running en femme. So, I could just put the cap/wig on before getting out of the car, but, unfortunately, I'm going to get it sweaty...
