I have very poor vision without my glasses. When I take off my glasses to do my eyes, I cannot see well enough to apply makeup precisely. I've tried contact lenses but had troubles with them so they are not a solution.
Does anyone have any tips or tools to help with applying your eye makeup?
Thanks
I wasn't expecting this to be the question when I originally clicked it. One thing that is nice about wearing glasses with eye make up is... if you are wearing rimmed glasses, it can make your mistakes VERY forgiving.
But if you are having a hard time seeing the application... stick to duo shaded eye shadows and just hit the blend lines a little... curl those lashes, and hit them with some mascara.
Don't get too fancy if you can't see what you are doing, sorry!
Miranda,
I too suffer from poor vision and I use too get frustrated in applying eye makeup. My wife suggested I use her makeup mirror which has a magnifier.. That did the trick and made a difference...... I hope that may help..

If you like me then you need "reading glasses" and we are not alone. It exists some "makeup glasses", they have only one lens that you can flip it between left and right or two lenses where each one can be flipped out of the way. That way you have a better chance to see what you doing.

Portable shaving mirrors also have a magnifying size; that's what I use when I have to take Rachel 'on the road' and have no idea if I'll have access to a mirror when making up.
One method involves having 2 pairs of old glasses sitting around. They don't even have to be in your latest prescription so long as you can see well enough with them. Remove the left lens from one of them and the right from the other one. You can then wear them alternately to do makeup for each eye.
I m thinking about maybe getting contacts,
I'm nearsighted so I don't need glasses for up close just for driving etc.
Should one place contacts in eye before applying eye makeup, possibly obscuring close up vision thusly wait to insert contacts after doing eye makeup ?
Or look into getting multiple focal contacts ik f I want contacts vs framed glasses?
I've heard one has to get new CONTACTS every few weeks SO what is advantage of contacts vs framed glasses a one time cost any time your vision prescription changes.
Most of the time I do my makeup I use a TWO SIZED Makeup mirror that magnifies when flipped over.
Have you tried a magnifying mirror? They are available at chain pharmacies, etc.
