Mine are 7 inch stilettos.

I am 6'2 barefoot and 6'9 in them. I find it empowering to be that tall. I ❤️ showing off my legs as that is where most of my height comes from.

What is your own style with heels? Curious.

I have a few pairs of 6" sandals with a 1.5" platform.  They're fairly easy to walk in for such high heels.  I hardly ever wear them anymore.

I wear 2 inch sandals at the beach. I love the looks I get.

My highest heels are only four inches (on a pair of velvet boots). I find it precarious walking in them. If I wore seven inch heels I fear I'd plunge to my death.

I'm happiest at around the two inch mark, but with broader heels for added stability.

I know ... I'm not very adventurous 🙁

@ellyd22 In my personal experience I think that 5-7” high heels make your legs and butt look sexier and get more compliments and attention.

My favorites are my Eilyken platform wedges from Ali express or  my Jamina heeled sandals from Amazon;)

I'd definitely get more attention ... but only because I was lying flat on my face with everyone asking if I was okay.

@nyxgrl88 My highest are probably a pair of my thigh high boots that I don’t wear a lot . As far as my shoes I have a 6” pair but they are platforms so like Emily said they are actually really easy to walk in. Then again my wife tells me a walk better in heels the most women at her work.  lol.

@nyxgrl88 8.5cm or 3 1/4"

Unfortunately, I don't get to wear something like that out in public - yet.

I had a pair of black patent 5" stillies, which I loved. Like most of my stuff they were a charity shop buy. 15 years ago I wore them on my trip to Manchester's Canal Street. Crossing the road my heel clipped the kerb, and I tumbled to the pavement in a heap.

I can't wear them now, as I have a stiff big toe, so it's 3 or 4 inch heels for me now.

I've just remembered something about those stillies. I've bought them twice!

About 20 years ago I found them in a charity shop, fell in love with them and bought them. When I tried them on at home I was overjoyed to find they fitted. I'd never had a pair with heels that high before. I wore them around the house (I'd never been outside then), until the day came when I had a purge.

Fast forward three years or so, and I'm visiting charity shops to replenish my stash. On a shelf was a pair of stillies identical to the ones I'd purged. I checked them out, and was amazed to find that they weren't just identical, they were the same pair. I knew because there was a little scuff mark on the inside I recognised instantly. Best of all, they'd been re-heeled! So naturally I bought them.

Again.

@jacquelinelarkspur That's amazing! 🙂

How I wish I could find some of the things I've purged over the years😒

I couldn't believe it!

Mind you, some of the stuff I've purged in the past, I wouldn't want back in a month of Sundays. Like the bright green rah-rah skirt I bought in the late 80s.

I remember buying it, in a secondhand shop, naturally. The young girl who served me giggled and said "I bet you'll look good in that!". I was very embarrassed and told her it was a present for my sister.

I doubt she believed me.

@jacquelinelarkspur Haha! Yes, we've all been there 😀

Spending ages perusing lingerie 'for a girlfriend' and trying to look nonchalant!

Actually, a bright green 80's ra-ra skirt? I'd have that! lol

@nyxgrl88 I have a couple of 5 in heels. Most of mine are 4 inch and a few 3 inch.

@nyxgrl88 My first pair were 4 3/4 inch. All I could do was stumble around the house in them, so they went back in their box. Having much more experience wearing heels nowadays, I do sometimes wonder if I could manage them now, but haven’t retrieved them from the loft to try.

Most of mine are 3 1/2 inch and I find that I can walk fine in them, although my feet don’t like it if I walk too far.

@nyxgrl88 I top out at about 3 1/2 inches.  I'm tall to start with and don't need the extra height.  And anyway, anything over that kills my feet!  My thinking is that I want shoes that I can wear without a lot of effort for a few hours.

@nyxgrl88 I can do just fine in 4”, but if I go to 5” without a platform, I’ve found walking being really difficult.  I did find that with the 5” platforms that there is a big advantage around the house.  I can reach things easily on the top shelves of my kitchen cabinets and I can also see dust where I couldn’t see before.  So keep in mind that the higher the heels, the cleaner your house will be.

Hiya Kim. My tallest ones are five inches.  That's my limit to walk comfortably. My beautiful wife has lately been encouraging me to stealthy go out in the evenings in heels. That is, walking out to the car  and we go for rides to pick up dinner and things.  She thinks we should also find a secluded spot so I would be able to actually walk around normally, since I only underdress outside the home and my heel wearing has been confined to inside the home and my sneaky walks to the car and mailbox in the evenings after dark.

I live an area where people don't pay much attention to that sort of thing.

I feel you about blending in. I had allot of anxiety showing off myself but just stopped caring eventually.

Honestly,  I loves to intimate people with it.

@audreyw If you get covered pumps with low block-heels, you won't stand out a lot. If someone makes the effort, they can see what you are wearing, unless your pant legs are long enough. Bootcut blue jeans are good at that.

I have been buying pairs of black Clarks because they have a handful of designs that look nice without being too eye-catching. DSW will frequently have them on sale, too.

Kitten heels, narrow pins, and open top shoes will draw much more attention.

Oh Kim,  I'm only 5'5 but my best 4" pumps let me reach new heights. Thanks for this interesting question.  Marg

Your muscles have to get used to it. Took months for me starting with 2 inch pumps. I can't wait to get some 8s or 10s. I would be a giant (good thing)!

I have a pair of sling backs with 4" block heels as well as a pair of sling backs with 2" block heels and a pair of 3" stilettos - I also have a pair of black booties and a pair of tan booties with cutouts on the side. I've worn both of those out in drab mode. I love wearing my heels.

XOXO

I am still working to master my 3" pumps. I guess  I'll just have to keep practicing. 😊
Once I have gained some confidence, I'll go from there. I do love the way they look and feel so much.

I'm a shade under 6'0", I have sandals and pumps both strappy with 3" block heel and low open slip-ons which are under 2" with a midi profile heel.  I can handle the taller blocks better than the smaller lower heels at the moment (and they're both more comfortable!) but noticed that all it takes to get the posture is the low ones, happily 🙂  But any taller or more pointy heels and I'd fall over I think!

I have 2 pair of 6" heels with a 2" platform. I can walk fine in them, but my stupid ol' feet insist I not do it for to long. As noted above, I LOVE being tall. I'm rather oddly pleased when I walk in a bathroom and can't see my face in the mirror. 🙂

3" pumps are as high as I go, and I am still an inch shorter than my wife. I like them, but they are not very comfortable, so I wear 2" pumps more often.

Kim....   I am 6ft 3in w/o shoes.  I am too tall already.  Given that I love wearing heels I keep the heel height to less than 3 inches.  Most shoes are in the 2 to 2 1/2 inch range.  I just love wearing cute heels, and I don"t want to scare the kids.  Smile.

I dunno. Honestly I wish I was 7 feet tall (out of heels) sometimes. Being really tall is one of my selling points lol.

My ideal is one and half to two inch. I am not tall and most shoes are worn for comfort and practicality so even flats are worn. I have got higher heels at 3" for occasions but aren't worn a lot. Anything higher and I think I would get a nose bleed from rarefied air or from falling on my face....

All of my heels are 2.0-2.5" block heels except one pair that is 3". I can't wear anything higher due to foot problems.

5" are my highest, but don't wear them often.  Most are 4".  Not a fan of platforms, so they are all single sole.  At 5'11, I mostly wear the 4" heels, and are comfortable walking in them & out hours all night.  I love wearing heels, wish I had more..

@emilysouthern Emily, I’m not a platforms type of girl either.  Most of my shoes are 4.5 or 5 inches (although I do own a couple of pairs of flats). I love all my 5 inch heels and I’m so used to walking around in them that it all seems so natural.  I did once purchase a pair of (single sole) 6 inch heels, but they were too high for me…couldn’t walk in them, they hurt my ankles and toes.  I persisted in trying to get used to them for several months, but in the end they were just too much and I had to drop them off at a charity shop.

So 5 inches are my tallest and I love them.  (I am 5’10”, but I really don’t let that bother me - I just wish I was a bit thinner!)

@christineth  Good for you on trying those 6" stilettos Christine.  I agree, they would be too much for me.  Sad that you had to give them away.  I probably would have kept them.. just for photo ops, Lol.

I also have 5 pairs of ballet flats, one in white snakeskin.  Great for my driving trips with leggings.

@emilysouthern I’m a Marie Kondo advocate….if you don’t wear them, get rid of them…creates space to see what you need/want!

(my panties and bra drawer has never been tidier and more accessible since finding MK, I love it, it’s very feminine and caters to my need for order)
