Not good at make-up love doing it but get it wrong sometimes
There are plenty of videos on YouTube showing how to apply make-up. I recommend that you watch some and practice, practice, practice. Another thing you can do is get a professional makeover. Pay attention to what the cosmetologist does and says. Ask plenty of questions and note the responses you get. That will help you improve your make-up application skills too.
Hello Carrisa
Stephanie is right, YouTube does offer really good advice on everything make up....I would add that make up is extremely personal...have you ever seen two girls looking the same?...try everything until you find the look that YOU are happy with...cat walk models are a rare breed....the girl next door is..... everywhere !!!!...good hunting honey.....grace xx
I got the best hints by just studying how women look in various situations. Without looking like a stalker of course. Makeup styles vary so much depending on the occasion or the event you’re attending. The YouTube videos are great as well. I am by no means an expert, but I am most usually pleased with the result of my makeup application. In most cases, less is more as the saying goes.
The fun is in the experimenting! Have fun!

Specifically, what are you having trouble with?
Golly gosh....I was out the other day and each time I looked round, this girl was staring at me.....was that you Emily????..haha, grace xx
Makeup can be overwhelming.
There are a number of YouTube channels but we are applying makeup for different reasons than the "makeup artist" youtubers.
I would suggest watching real makeup artists like Lisa Eldridge and Angie from Hot and Flashy.
Also I would suggest TheMakeUpChair as well.
Our bone structure is different, our skin texture is different, we sweat more and we have to take into consideration colour correcting for beard shadow.
I would highly recommend booking an appointment at MACs for tutorial. Bring questions, ask questions and make sure the makeup artist allows you to apply makeup as well so she can help you.

I also need help, but in the meantime I will practice, practice, practice. Jecca Blac has some nice tutorials on CDH, I also ordered a few of their items. You will know when I feel good about doing makeup when I post my first pic.!
Practice, Practice, Practice.....

Start with the basics - foundation, lipgloss and mascara.
A decent set of brushes is essential too.
With foundation, get a nice, smooth, well brushed look. Use a big brush to get it really even. A good foundation will give the perfect canvas for the rest of your masterpiece!
Mascara takes a few goes, but then you get to see the results you want as you do it. Apply sparingly and brush your lashes from the top down, bottom up to start, then gently tease into place, top up, bottom down.
If you want to do eyeliner, apply it before mascara, and add a very tiny white line along the lower eyelid to make your eyes pop. Brush eyeliner with a thin brush to avoid hard lines or panda eyes.
Use a lip pencil to draw your lip shape, and get a nice, solid cupid's bow, then paint on the lipgloss (easier than lipstick, but your choice!).
I would also feel compelled to add a little (and I mean a little) brushed blusher under the cheekbones and maybe the lower brow.
As others have said, the Jecca Blac videos are awesome, and I like the products!
Have fun!
Love Laura
