Hello ladies

Does anyone have advice on calming ingrown hairs after a shave?  They mostly happen on the legs and chest area and some times the back.

do Ingrown hairs eventually go away after your skin gets used to you shaving?

I use a bump remover “called jack black” (not the actor) and put lotion on my legs.

thanks

Paula

Only once in awhile. I'll get one. Mostly using dull razors is when I see them.

It goes away, but I wouldn't bother spending extra money on those things. You should grab a body scrubber (buff puff?) and massage those areas with soap and then rinse. Should be done every time you shave. That alone helps prevents ingrown hairs.

To avoid that altogether, I recommend waxing. Pricey but worth it in the long run.

Hi Paula,

I found that my skin "got used to" shaving after doing it regularly for a little while.

Also, if you're shaving "down there", make sure that you go WITH the grain... no faster way to create shave bumps than going for the close shave and going against the grain.

EXFOLLIATE... that is a must, a couple of days after shaving, and then on a regular basis. Loofah!

Make sure that you use a sharp razor with plenty of shave gel.

Hope you have silky smooth skin from here on out...

xoxo

You can try waxing on for size, but... I have gotten myself waxed a couple of times, aggravation.

Maybe I have sensitive skin, but I was covered in red, ITCHY, bumps for nearly a week each time I got waxed. Even on parts of my arms that get shaved normally. My legs reacted...ok...

I looked like I had poison oak or something. Whole back and chest...ug.

The wax professional said, "yeah, that can happen. Make sure you give yourself a week for the skin to calm down. Oh and it will get less severe the more frequently you wax". A week?! I started feeling new growth by the time all the bumps went away!

Just my 2 cents...

xoxo

I love the feeling of shaved everywhere, the feeling of my nylon nighties, slips hose on shaved is awesome!! I have been shaving everywhere but my mustashe (wife says no) 🙁 for maybe 16 years. I shave my armpits and legs and there too once in a while, but mostly I pluck or wax, I keep it smooth, was a bit painful in the beginning but now it's no big deal. I have girl friends (younger) that actually say they wish they had my legs ;-). Start this story with this >>> I am one of the lucky ones I have very minamal hair on my body, no back hair, maybe 3-4 chest hairs. and most other is light colored, my head hair is blonde/white so then is most everywhere. My knees are the only place that has hair for the most part, so My wife started saying this and started the joke on her own, that I have Froto knees so she makes me shave them cause it looks stupid. everyone buys it with no problem. LOL ... Enjoy Life while You Can!!

you're so lucky 🥰, just about the only place that doesn't have substantial hair on my body is my ankles from wearing sweat socks for so long. I guess my back is mostly clear but that's cold comfort lol.

Thank you. I have yet to try that but it’s on the list. Going the alternative cheaper way right now 😊

I have had a few in the nether region and at the top of my legs.  So I have decided to trim really close and leave it like that.  That works for me.  I have never tried waxing but have plucked out before not too bad but still get the ingrown hairs when I do that.  The new lawnmower 3.0 is the best trimmer for that area.  Awesome.  Good luck girls
