After having the easiest time maybe ever hiding birthday gifts for my wife I'm thinking of starting up a small stash. I will almost definitely have to purge before the big move, so I am aiming to keep it limited a cheap (though open to something pricier if it really feels like a dream). My aim is to feel comfortable and (at least from the shoulders down) totally feminine in the rare case I get a couple hours to myself, so here's what I have in mind:
Dress: Something loose, but with a shape and coming to around my knees. A shirt or tunic dress seems good, as long as it has some hip definition. Sleeveless seems wise as I have very wide shoulders.
Tights: Opaque so I can look down and not see all the hair and if possible a fun colour.
Sweater: Something big that hides bulges and would hide curves of a real woman, maybe even a turtleneck so it could again cover the hard to fully eliminate hair there too.
Panties: I may just grab something I come across, but if I see some good suggestions for something comfortable that still lets my male bits not be overly compressed I would probably spring for that.
Not planning on getting a bra with this outfit as I would like to be professionally sized before investing, but if anyone knows a good bralette which could get around a wide body and not leave too much of a gap I would take a look. My boobs are a bit big for a man, but not as attention-grabbing relative to my body as they were as an adolescent.
I am about 6'1" and 275lbs, a bit bulgy but not curvy like a woman at all. Big shoulders. Looking for good experiences with clothes like this available in the US. If they can be ordered online from a source that doesn't imply "WOMEN'S CLOTHES!!!" all over it, that would be the best, especially if I can show my wife "what I got" while hiding the rest.
I really want some bright colours too! If I could be a rainbow every day, I would (I even try to as a guy). In my head I see either bright blue tights with a yellow sweater and maybe a less intense dress or a really wild dress with a quieter sweater and some tights that don't clash with the skirt. Pink is always good of course, but not *just* pink.

Honestly, don't lie to your wife. If you love her, and she loves you, she should be able to accept that you want to dress from time to time. What would she think if she found one of your errant panties???
Now she may not want it in front of her or others (like most, she married and fell in love with a man after all). but listen and respond to her concerns too. It is selfish to hide and deceive.
Sofsy Opaque (40 denier) and Super Opaque (100 denier) tights on Amazon, I can't recommend them enough. They are super comfy and durable, and the 40 denier ones come in tons of colors. (Although the lighter color ones may not be great at hiding hair, my pair of Bordeaux ones hid my leg hair pretty well if that helps for reference)
(I still have that pair! and I've worn it tons of times! like I said, really durable!)
My go-to panties are Bali comfort revolution seamless briefs, also on Amazon. They are really comfy and very stretchy. Not very exciting, but the "what-did-I-do-to-deserve-this?!?!!" level of comfort makes up for that I think! They come in normal briefs, as well as high-cut. Both are great!
Stephanie, thank you for your concern. I haven't included the background here because I have mentioned it (probably too much) elsewhere in the past. I have come clean to my wife in the past and she is aware that I am a crossdresser. She does not want to know about it or see it, but she accepts it. I do worry about her finding anything, but it would be more of a discomforting reminder than a lie. My lack of activity has not been a result of dishonesty, but of practicality.
We have spent more time directly together than most couples who have been together a lot longer, so having the space that others take for granted has never been a part of it. She is aware that if that were to change I would be spending time on dressing, but as long as it is out of sight and out of mind, there is no problem. In other words, work trips, nights out with friends, even family visits have never been a part of our relationship so it's known how valuable this free time to onesself can be.
Aoife, just a suggestion; why not wait to get clothes until after the big move. That way you won't need to purge and no money lost.
Amazon sells EMY lace bralettes, with no padding or wires; easy to hide for stealth wear, but they still give my girls the boost they need. And I agree with Ashley about the Sofsy tights.
I won't know the kind of place I'll be moving into until I'm there. Good chance I won't have the private storage space there that I do now.
