hello girls. I think the whole world now knows I am trying to learn make up. I am starting right from basics, with lipstick etc.
what is the difference between lipstick and lipgloss?
are all lipsticks glossy or are some less shiny?
what is the best realistic colours to use for a beginner like me?
are there any other lip cosmetics I have not mentioned?
I suppose the questions I am asking are to many of you, super basic, and I really should know. I have found its a minefield of brands, colours, types and prices! one thing I have learned is dont go for the super cheap ones, they just do not work as good.

Fiona,
Thanks for starting this thread as I also am trying to understand make up. I use my wife’s make up and the shades don’t work for me. Hopefully we will see some helpful replies.

Here's a start,
Lipstick: Ideal for evening, work, or anytime you want to look put together or "done."
Gloss: Weekends and nights out when you'd rather play up your eyes. (Smoky lids with bold lips looks a little too beauty queen–ish.)
Find the right color for your skin tone.
Fair or light skin should look for dusty, pinkish red or coral. Cool undertones: raspberry. ...
Tan or medium skin should look for bright red cherry red, or true red with no undertone (if you have a neutral undertone). ...
Deep skin with warm undertones should try blue-based red.
I do like a brand called Milani, Matt finish slightly pink frost, my nails are done with pink frost polish very hard to notice but there beautiful in the correct light...
thanks lisa, that's a very comprehensive reply and a useful one too.

If needed
Utube should have a video on this how to apply lip stick
😬 I must say I have a lipstick addiction I love them all. Watch some tutorials and vids. Important note if your other half doesn’t know you cross dress avoid stay fast and high pigment lipsticks or they may find out. However they all come off with a good remover. Just have a go and enjoy like everything it’s all personal preferenc.
