Im pretty much out of my gleebee hair removal cream. It "works" but not as good as i would like. Tube says no more than 10min, but i have to go to about 14-15min for it to have any decent effect 80-90% effective on average.
I was wondering if anyone has good suggestions of hair removal cream brands.
I only use it in my arm pits, chest/abdominal, and "lower" region.
I've used Veet on my legs with no skin reactions, but I thought that it or Nair would keep me smooth for several days, but I really see no difference between using it and shaving (meaning, by day 2, I'm stubbly again). And I think shaving is easier. I can do it in a lot less than 10 minutes.
Maybe someone out there has a miracle, but I haven't found it yet...
*kisses* tara 🙂
I’ve used Veet and Nair, but like Tara Jeane says, it has no long lasting effect. And shaving is faster, and leaves my skin smelling nice depending on which shave gel I’m using. (And the act of shaving is actually a bit more fulfilling for me with regard to feeling feminine.) The creams are also messy and take time to clean up after application and then removal.
However… In those times when I’ve had to let it grow back for one reason or another, the cream works wonders for removing the fur so that my skin is smooth and easily shavable again. I’ve never needed more than 8 minutes on any part of my body.
Is there a trick to shaving the stomach?
I can shave my chest without issues, lower area as well. But my stomach does not appreciate the razor.
Pits as well, always feels weird when i shave them instead of using hair removal.
(I must admit, i tried waxing and it was a horrible experience. 9.999/10 chance i will not try it again)
Waxing is very painful for the abdomen and chest. Surprisingly moreso than the pubic region.
My abs are easy to shave if the hair is slightly grown out but if 8 attempt to shave it when it is stubble it is painful. I suppose if I just worked through the discomfort my skin would become accustomed to it.
Booked a waxing appointment (neck to toes) for next wk, so looking forward to NO hair! Up until now I use Braun Epilator, painful first few times no so now and I use on legs, hands and arms, chest, underarms, and bikini area. Slow regrowth and less regrowth.
Lynda, you are a braver gal than I am!!! I looked into the epilator and read enough reviews to understand I am wuss enough not to be able to take that kind of pain. I can't even imagine the pain of a full body wax! You have my admiration and sympathy! HA! LOL!! 🙂

I used to use creams, and had decent results with both Veet and Nad's. The latter, I felt had very little odor to it also. I did have to leave both on for longer than the instructions, but had no ill effect. For frame of reference, this was used exclusively "down there".

The thing with epilators is that the pain level really depends on how coarse your hair is. I use an epilator on my legs and the first time there was a little discomfort, but since then I really can’t feel it . The key is to have a nice warm bath before hand to open up the skin pores . This will soften the hair too. You can either use the epilator in the bath while your skin is wet , or dry off and do it after. I can get away with doing it once every two weeks and when the hair grows back, it’s finer so next time you epilate, the pain will be reduced.
Opal, I do agree, the hair is finer and after using for 2/3 mounths there is very little pain.

Hi Krya,
I use a Norelco Men’s body groomer. It’s quick, easy to use and does a fine job especially if you shave regularly. I groom every day before I shower and I never get more than a 5 o’clock shadow, so to speak.
In fact, I’ve found that by daily shaving and moisturizing, the hair grows less. I think it is learning it’s lesson, if you grow I will shave you! Comes with an extender handle for reaching your back

Hello my darlings,
I noticed a shaver mentioned. Does anyone have suggestions/favorites?
I haven't shaved my face in 30 years so I'm clueless about shavers these days. I have a couple of cheapish ones ($40-$50 wish CDN) but they always leave something no matter which direction I run them.
Hugs and panties, Christine.
Norelco Men’s body groomer was the one mentioned by Jillian.
Lynda mentioned a Braun Epilator.
(I just ordered the Braun Epilator Silk-épil 9 9-720)
I use a Remington HC5855 hair trimmer for buzzing down longer hair before shaving. Doesn't get much use anymore for that since i keep everything shaved and smooth now. Only use it on my beard throughout the week to keep it nice (only shave my face when i plan on dressing up with make-up)
