Well Friday I had my makeup session at Luminous downtown Minneapolis at 1 pm. To say that I was nervous being out like that during the day, in the heart of the city fully dressed up..woudl be an understatement.
I was fun to start the day primping and selecting outfit options to wear from lingerie, pencil skirt and blouse, wig and heels. I put full makeup on me so she could see what and how I apply my makeup and critique it. To which she said I did a very good job. She fully cleaned off my face and we started from scratch. She explained each step, process and what she was using and had me do the other side after I watched her to the left side. She complemented me on how I hold my makeup brushes and how I applied my makeup. I even opted for the glue on eyelashes. Those were hard to do and I surrendered to have her do that.
Overall I picked up a lot of information and processes and makeup to use, as well as what I needed to get. It cost $195 for 90 minute session. Betsy (owner) is queer and very open and accepting of all types. She did not charge me for the eyelashes and gave me some darker lip gloss too.
For our MN ladies, I HIGHLY recommend seeing Betsey at Luminous, well worth the experience. I told her she needs to come on this board as a great resource person.
I should do a lesson. I only apply very light make up on my own. If I want real make up I go to Sephora and just have it aplied properly. The nice thing is having different styles of make up applied in eays I could never do myself.
I am glad for you, Leah. Thanks for sharing your makeover experience.

Leah -
Sounds like a wonderful experience and to get a lesson on top of it. When I first did make up my wife bought me what I needed and put it on me the first time. The second time she showed me on one side and had me do the other and then touched up what I did. I don't use make up very often so need more practice but it doesn't look too bad. At least i don't think I look like a clown. I have false lashes but haven't gotten to put them on yet as I need to pick up some glue remover.
XOXO
