Hello ladies,

Im in Southern California and looking for a place to go where they will do a professional make over and teach me about applying make up as they go?

Thank you

Dawn,
I can't speak to your specific location, but Ulta stores provide these services, and they have a CD-friendly reputation. I had my first session at Ulta just last week. The MAC counters at Macy's are also recommended by many of the girls here.

I recently had a makeover at a MAC location, and she was great. Not only did a beautiful job, she explained what she was doing, and what she was using. She was so completely accepting as well, which made me very comfortable. The other thing was that they had a private makeup room, which made me much more at ease.

I understand that Sephora is very good with trans and CD folks.

If you have any of these stores near you, they are worth a try.

Participating Sephora stores will occasionally hold classes for transgenders.   I have been waiting for the longest time for the Sephora store in my area to do this which they have done in the past. 🙁  But have now been waiting months for the next one.

There are a couple of crossdressing services in the LA area that do make up lessons. As mention most of the good chains will help you as well. I have been in Sephora and MAC as was treated very well.

The 2 SoCal services I'm aware of don't appear to be viable options anymore.  The Boudoir LA has become a pop-up 3-4 times a year.  Transformations by Gina is for sale and she's working for a non-profit.  I've been trying to find another service with a photo studio for months.  As others have said, Mac, Sephora, and Ulta are all good options for lessons or a makeover.  I'm planning to visit a nearby Ulta soon.

JJ - do you know of any other transformation services in SoCal?  Thx.

Emily
