I love mani pedis but every time I get in the chair I am overwhelmed by nervousness and shyness. I have always wanted a matching shade of red or pink. So far I’ve only found the courage to ask for clear polish. Any advice for a girl’s first full salon trip/finding the confidence to ask for color?
- Toes Red or pink, I've even had white with designs. Metallic silver or blue, once 4 Halloween season orange with designs in black.
- Fingers : French manicure with or without 1/4" acrylic tips. One time I was on vacation 4 2 weeks, as I was dared by SOGGF I was out to she said how about you dress 100% 24/7 FULLY feminine for entire duration of vacation with her to her parents summer home, thus I had Metallic Silver toes and French MANICURE With 1/2" oval acrylic tips just like hers.
wow! That sounds like an amazing trip! Hopefully I can go to the salon with one of my girlfriends in the future and I won’t be as nervous.

I had my first mani-pedi a couple of weeks ago (I think it might be time for another).
I just got clear - in part because the salon defaulted to that for a guy I think.
While I was in the chair, I noticed that the ladies who came in after me all chose their colours while they waited, so that seems to be the protocol in that salon at least (this was in Sydney - Newtown).
So, next time, I plan to confidently ask for "a mani-pedi - clear for my fingers and some colour on my toes".
Lets see how it goes - it will be in a completely different salon, and not in such an alternate lifestyle area as last time.
Pink or red on toes, French manicure on fingers is good combination.
My first full ENFEMME nails salon visit per requirement of my SOGFF was quite satisfying experience 3 weeks b4 a Halloween costume party.
Orange toes, with designs on big Toes. Manicured fingernails with 3/8" nail tips with same orange polish.
Now I pick color for toes based upon season, fingers are always French manicured sometimes with 3/8" or 1/2" acrylic nail tips, sometimes square cut or oval shaped.
If you in MAN mode more than ENFEMME mode I sure natural length French manicure a d and color pedicure.
when i go for a pedi i get polish i like red is my best mani i just get clear never had a problem
My first manicures (I was still in male mode in public) were acrylic powder, natural (very slightly pink) with a clear top coat. My first pedicure was gold.
Now its anything goes!!! I'll soon be posting a few of my nail photos.
You can always ask the person doing your mani-pedi what color would they recommend. The first time I had mine done i was very nervous. When the girl asked me if I wanted some color, I simply said no, just clear. The next time I went in, I knew she was going to ask this again. And she did. I simply asked her what she recommended and she said either a nice pink or red. When I said ok, she got me the color samples, I picked out a nice red and I have been getting my nails colored ever since. Sometimes when I see a nice color in a store like Ulta or one of the grocery chains, I will buy it and take it with me to the salon. None of the women in there seem to care or even notice.

Took the car in to get some work done this morning , booked in early, and ended up with a couple of hours to kill. Most shops weren't even open yet, so had a nice coffee to start with.
The mall had 4 places that did nails, 2 specialists nail salons. I went with one of them, and asked per the above.
Nice experience for m/p #2 for me - and I now have lovely pink toenails.
(Only problem was they wanted them to air dry for a couple of hours - even offered some thongs (flip-flops). I said I'll take the chance and put my socks and runners back on - they seem to have survived OK).

My wife is taking me to get my first pedicure/manicure in a couple weeks. She told me to be prepared for them asking what color polish I want. Hope I can have the nerve to say red
