This step is optional. If you do not want to use false eyelashes, please proceed to Part 3.
Okay, time to attach your false eyelashes. I have tried many methods and finally found one that works pretty well for me. I will describe it here so that you can check if it also works for you.
I unscrew and separate the adhesive bottle top with the applicator from the bottle of adhesive. I reinsert the applicator into the bottle and position the unmated applicator and bottle near by. I then take one of my chosen false eyelashes and position the outer side (opposite the side you will glue to your eyelid) between my left index finger and thumb (I am right handed so I pinch the outer extreme of the lash in my non-dominant hand). I remove the applicator from the bottle with my right hand and begin to apply adhesive to the edge of the lash opposite from the edge I am holding. The applicator has a rectangular “paddle” to hold the adhesive that you will wipe onto the lash.
The application seems to work best for me if I gently wipe the side of the paddle of the applicator against the glue edge of the lash. This results in a blob of adhesive in one spot. I then use the applicator to spread that blob along the lash to uniformly distribute the glue. You may need to repeat this procedure to get the full length of the lash properly coated with adhesivd. Once fully costed, I return the applicator to the bottle of adhesive. I take the lash and kind of fan it back and forth to help the adhesive to set. You will know it is set when it changes from a white color to clear. Now get ready for the real fun, placing the lash.
This is going to sound weird but bear with me. Extend your dominant arm perpendicular to the side of your torso. Bend your elbow and pinch your nose. Turn the nose pinching hand so that the palm of your hand is directly in front of your face. Now pinch the outer edge of the lash with the adhesive between the thumb and index finger of the hand in front of your face. That is the hand position and grip that I have found to work best for placing the lash.
Now for my next trick. While standing in front of a mirror, tip your head back to the point where the tops of your eyelids are in plain view. Using your dominant hand gripping the lash in the manner described above, bring the lash slowly towards the target eyelid. Place the lash along your natural top lash line. You, my sister, have just successfully placed your false eyelash.
Rinse and repeat for the other eye. Now look at yourself in the mirror. This is where I get excited seeing Penelope beginning to emerge.
Job well done. I am proud of you. Let’s carry this success to Part 3.

I will have to try your method. I have had reasonably good luck with applying two coats of adhesive a couple of minutes apart. Then I apply the lashes to the center of the eyelid with a straight eyelash curler and use my fingers to pull down the ends along the lash line.
Dear Penelope,
GREAT JOB but I can't wait for you to demonstrate your technique on YOU TUBE. LOL!
Seriously, and for me, applying false eye lashes can be the most time consuming and frustrating step in the total DOLL UP PROCESS. Penelope, there is nothing more sexier than fashioning false eyelashes.
I have successfully reduced the utterance of '4 letter words by FIRST TRIMMING my false eye lashes simply a few millimeter from the OUTER EDGE. Cutting away just a small length of lash may help in the overall process.
Secondly, I like to place 'a dot' of liquid eye liner on MY outer most LASH edge and use it as a REFERENCE/PLACEMENT POINT.
YOU GO GIRL and THANK YOU for YOUR STEP by STEP, inch by inch process.
Sincerely, With Love, and a WINK of THE EYE,
Thea
Great information.. Have been working on getting it right.
I will try this procedure. Thanks, Girls 🙂
I never got the adhesive to work for me.
Went to magnet using cream liner.
Hi Penelope and thanks for nice the lash lesson. I find that using a toothpick to apply the glue and smooth it around on the lash works well for me. I learned that from the stage where lashes were used all the time. Hugs, Marg
A very comprehensive instruction Penelope. I am sure it will be of benefit to many here and I picked up a couple of tips too.
I've never tried false lashes. Are they easy to remove at the end of a day?
Hugs,
