I do not use skin pre-conditioners mainly because I’ve never tried them. I go directly to the orange stuff and get acceptable results, so why bother, is my thinking.Using a cosmetic wedge, I spread the orange concealer over the area where a beard would grow. I continue to rub until there is a nice, even distribution. Occasionally, I will continue past my chin and an inch or more down my throat because I am going to apply make up there, too. This coat of orange is supposed to balance out the blueing effect of razor stubble.

I also apply the anti-wrinkle cream beneath each eye now. The anti-wrinkle cream I use comes in a bottle that has a sponge head. I dab and spread a small amount of.

I now wait for these products to dry.

When they have dried, I use another cosmetic wedge to apply the color corrector over my entire face, even over the orange stuff and wrinkle eraser. I apply an evenly distributed amount of color corrector.
I had heard about color correctors but I was a non-believer at first. That changed when I bought a trial sized bottle and spread some on my face. It does just what it says it will do - it creates a uniformly colored surface where previously there was unevenly colored skin. It creates a balance of color even over the orange stuff. And this is why I am not so picky about the orange stuff. I know that its working but it gets covered by color corrector.

I now wait for the color corrector to dry and then on to Part 4 - Foundation, color selection and application.

I apologize. This needs to be edited to include false eyelash attachment. I will edit to include that later today. Sorry!

You keep saying orange stuff.

And I am confused what do you mean?

Too mean orange stuff or orange color is a color corrector.

For beard shadow AND you have darker skin you apply the orange color corrector to cancel out the blue. You then apply a concealer.

Also can you tell me the color corrector product you are using all over your face. Never heard of this technique and interested in knowing more about it.

@remi Hi! Sorry it has taken so long to get back to you, but a girl has to earn a living. The very first post of this series (My Make Up Routine - Part 1, Supplies) contained descriptions of all the products I use. The orange stuff is LA girls.pro concealer HD.

Thank you for getting back to me.

I can see the confusion. They have a corrector and concealer together. They call it concealer/ peach corrector.

Now I see why you call it the orange stuff.

@fabulous1  This is good stuff, especially seeing  how well it works for you.

I will need to try both color corrector and orange concealer, on to part four

I think there is some confusion here.

Orange is a color corrector NOT a concealer.

Apply the orange corrector to cancel out bluish tone of beard shadow then apply concealer.

If orange does not work move towards peach.

I saw a lot of online tutorials recommending orange color corrector for bead shadow so I went with it for a long time. I submitted a face pic to Jecca Blac cosmetics for a recommendation and they recommended for me their correct and conceal #2 pallet.  I ordered it to give it a try and the color corrector in that pallet was more of a pink/red hue.  I was skeptical but tried it anyway, I applied the pink/red corrector over my beard area and used the concealer under my eyes for the dark circles. Then topped off everything with my foundation. For me I found it to be better than the orange stuff I had been using. More natural looking and longer lasting cover for the shadow vs the orange. Obviously every skin situation is different but I was surprised to learn that something was better for me than the orange. I've been using the JB now for the past year.

@fabulous1 I get on well with skin pre-conditioners. I use them as if I'm in makeup, I generally will be wearing it for 12-14 hours and using a pre-conditioner and setter makes it last longer.

I'm another big fan of colour corrector.

Hugs,

Anna xx

I find that a primer helps my foundation go on smoothly and evenly.  I like Embriolysse Lait-Creme Concentrate. It is recommended by a lot of MUA's and it works well for me.  I will have to try your anti-wrinkle cream.  I tried one that worked well but left white flakes on the skin.

@michellemybell

To be honest Michelle if you find one that works stay with it.

What  works for one person may not work for another because of skin type(oily, dry, combination), and type of products you are layering it with. For example oil base product on water base product can cause the product to separate.

And if you have oily skin and apply oily product you can get a greasy look.
