What type of makeup should I get girls? I am just getting started.
That's always a toughie, as there are so much choices, and very confusing for the when you are getting into makeup.
Some foundation, which matches, or is a shade lighter than your skin tone. A selection of powders, and eye shadow. Have you looked on you tube, there are many how to videos, but if you're like me you might find them confusing.
If you can, go to either a cosmetics counter at a drug store and ask some questions, or find a cosmetics store and go in for some advice. That's tough, I know, but the ladies are professionals and a sale is a sale.
The other thing is, to start off easy and there are those that might disagree, but most name brands are of decent quality, so don't spend a fortune (it's easy to do!) and work your way up. I have found it is mostly a matter of preference.
Hope this helps a bit!

Hi Antoinette!
If you are serious I would go to a professional, they are used to CDs. The advice they give will save you $$$ on wrong purchases along the way. They are paid to understand (yes, and of course to SELL) their product and which skin type is best. Make-up is the toughest part of our lives, good to have a friend helping and I found they don't necessarily "upsell" you with expensive products.
Really worth it!

Hi Anttoinette,
As many of the girls here will testify, matching makeup to your skintone is essential; and by far the best way to do this is to get professional help. The ladies at Macy's, Ulta or Sephora are happy to help, and are absolutely non-judgemental toward CDs. You can go either Dressed or in drab. "Outing" yourself can be a bit scary if it is your first time, but it WILL be OK, and is worth the effort.
