I had to go into the city today. Once I got the primary jobs out of the way, I went looking for some boots.
Just told the shop assistants that I was looking for some boots with a bit of a heel.
The first few places didn't, but one male shop assistant was very helpful and directed me to a shop that he said could help me as they catered to the punk and alternative niche. (I suspect he was a bit 'alternative' himself - 'viva la difference').
They sure did, Doc Martens on up. I ended up getting a pair of Taos Shakas in black soft leather with a 2 1/2 inch heel.
Wore them around the Sydney CBD more or less camoflouged by my boot cut jeans. If anyone noticed they didn't say anything. I certainly felt that they had some heel after a few hours, but they were comfortable, and quite OK to drive whilst wearing.

I wear booties all the time, w/flared jeans and with pretty tight skinny jeans, that style that hug your ankles. So the booties show completely.
I love this look! I get some stares but I'm comfortable. I have 3 pair. Love them!
Boots i find are good with, a mini skirt a knee length a midi length, jeggings trousers over and tucked in just love them. the heights vary to suit my mood. Py.

My new quest is to buy my 1st ever wedge shoes with a bit of a heel.
