I love wearing skinny jeans and jeggings. Bit the downside is lack of pocket space.

I bought a pair of size 16 women jeans from Aldi yesterday. For the princely sum of $16. They are not skinny jeans and fit me well.

Talk about decent sized pockets. They are bigger than most cheap men's jeans. I like deep pockets in jeans.

I didn't know Aldi sells clothes.

FWIW, the Amazon Essentials brand of skinny jeans has reasonably usable front pockets.  They're deep enough for keys, lipstick, smaller mobile phones, and miscellaneous items.  The back pockets are big enough for large mobile phones.  They're also very affordable.  I have several pairs.

That's worth knowing 🙂

All my jeans (which are ALL women's, obvs) are from Marks & Spencer.

The pockets are really shallow 🙁

@ellyd22  I'm noticing that more women's jeans don't have side pockets any more.

The weird thing is, women ALSO bemoan the inadequacy of pockets in jeans ... and the lack of pockets in women's clothes in general.

Many years ago I was in registration time with my sixth form tutor group. One of the girls was showing off a new dress to her friends. I complimented her on it, and she said:

'Thanks! It's got pockets!'

She hadn't realised the dress had pockets when she bought it. Now she'd discovered them, she was genuinely thrilled 🙂

@ellyd22 i have a couple of dresses and skirts (not denim) that have pockets. And a tunic that has really good pockets. I like gardening wearing that tunic. Can put pkt of seeds, trowell etc in the pocket. Or bottle of water.

Now you've got me actively searching for either a gardening dress with pockets, or a good tunic!

@emilyalt Aldi Australia regularly sell cosmetics and women clothing. But mostly not for plus sized gal's.

@emilyalt Hi Liz, Aldi, at least in the UK, don't really have a clothes line. But they have 'special buys' from time to time which could be anything from clothes to a mini nuclear reactor. The same with Lidl, where I've come across good value plain tunic dresses from time time.

A neighbour of mine went to Aldi for milk and came back with a cement mixer.

I'm not making that up.

@ellyd22  a cement mixer makes sense, unless of course it wasn’t on sale.  On the pockets subject , don’t need much room for my libstick.

I’m surprised you didn’t leg it straight over there at the first mention of a nuclear reactor.

My local Aldi has never had one on offer 🙁

I'll keep looking.

When they have them, I can't imagine they sell out all that quickly.

@ellyd22 If anyone comes across a mini nuclear reactor for sale (Aldi or not) please let me know. Do they have them on eBay?

There are actually instructions for building them online, though now I've Googled that I'll probably get arrested.

The reactor is 'easy', but security forces tend frown upon anyone trying to buy fissionable material to make it go.

@ellyd22 Not from Aldi, but I did once bring a rusty anchor home from a car boot sale. I could scarcely lift the thing but did manage to get it in the car. My wife went absolutely mental. We've moved house twice since and each time she has insisted it came with us and has repainted it a few times over the years.

A 'special buy' on a mini nuclear reactor!  OMG really!  I've been looking all over for one of those!

Do you suppose they have purchase limits?  I'd buy several.

One for the RAV of course....and a backup.  A few things in 1997 need fixing.

Then there's the replicator that's been stalled on the drawing board.  Everything looks good except for a reliable power source.

Finally I'll be able to make anything I want!  Which of course means a massive increase in my wardrobe!

OMG thank you so much Emma!

@mary Hi Peta.  I'm just the opposite, I really dislike putting anything in the pockets of my jeans.  Why work out like a mad woman on your tush, if you're going to hide your hard work.  My answer is simple, I carry a handbag always, even in guy mode.  Nothing ostentatious, simple blacks and browns, usually shoulder bags. I'm partial to Michael Kors.  Sometimes people do a double take then their faces give that look like its just a guy with a bag meh, and they go on about their business.  I've found if you wear your bag like you own it people may look or not, then go on like its no big deal.  And I do frequently get complements from women about my bags.

All my jeans are women's and yes they all have small pockets. My daughters always complained about how small they were and said why don't clothes makers just take the best part of girls jeans and boys jeans and just make one really great jean.

I agree with them but there is one thing I do like about smaller pockets, you can't load the pockets up with stuff so not having bulging pockets just looks better.

Yes, bulging pockets I would guess is the reason - not a pretty sight. When I put my jeans through the wash, the amount of c**p I unload from my pockets could easily fill a handbag. So much for the old canard "Why on earth do women have such full handbags?"

I do have a pair of women's jeans, with no front pockets, just stitching to suggest they are there. The first time I wore them out, it was the strangest feeling.

I found wearing womens jeans is like wearing leggins or yoga pants. I loved instantly the way they form and shape to the body with curves and snugness. I hardly use pockets now even in male mode and carry a handbag. I prefer using a purse and cant live without it. Just dont like anything bulging from pockets but thats just me

It seems odd that in the age of mobile phones womens jeans haven't a pocket to accommodate such a device. The amount of women who have two thirds of a phone sticking out from a small rear pocket is astonishing.  It is understandable why they lack pockets or they are small as women do carry bags as they would never have enough pockets and it is unladylike to have bulges all over the hip area.

My mum always asks 'Does it have pockets' when showing her a new purchase and indeed many do. I like tunic tops with pockets as they are handy when gardening or doing the housework. On a dress it is handy for a hanky, keys or small items but not a nuclear reactor, need a bigger bag for that.

I wonder if the chap buying the cement mixer was a crossdresser? Obviously needed it for his foundation.....

Or perhaps the chap understood that a cement mixer makes for an excellent place to hide his girly goodies!
