Hi girls is it me or are all the nighties all a bit bland,
When i was growing up my sister had a baby doll nightie with matching pants, and you could buy them in satin and silk, the ones I've seen in the stores these days are cotton ones with slogans on them, I'm not really interested in them, if anyone knows where i can get either a baby doll nightie from or a satin one would be great X

@rozalyne You often find something nice like that in TK Maxx. You could also try Anne Summers (I've got one from there) and I bought a beautiful blue (and very short) nightie in She Said in Brighton a couple of weeks ago.

Thanks very much Anna, we have a TK Maxx near to us, i shall certainly make a point to have a look, we don't have an Anne Summers though we used to have one but I'm sure it closed down years ago, the thing is i can't order anything on line because my wife doesn't know I'm a crossdresser,

@rozalyne Have you tried adult boutiques? That's where all of mine have come from and they're satiny, lacy, and beautifully feminine. No cotton or logos like you mentioned. Good luck and happy shopping!

@rozalyne ive shopped in the department stores, and like you found nothing worthwhile. I don't care for cotton, it seems that's all they have. I have been buying mine from Amazon. They have lots to choose from.

@rozalyne hi Rozalyn l was just talking about that very same thing with my wife the other day. When l was young my sisters wore baby doll nightys and l have looked around and can't seem to find any in the stores, all l can find is the bland ones you speak of.
Sadly it seems that ladies fashion in this area seems less feminine than it used to be. Might have to look online at ebay shein etc
Hi Jane i agree with you totally ladies fashion's nowadays doesn't seem to be as feminine as it was back in the 50's and 60's, back then you hardly ever saw a woman wearing jeans or trousers they all wore nice dresses,

@rozalyne yes my wife always wears skirts and dresses, but my ex was always in track pants. Even at schools, in australia the girls uniforms consists of shorts, l think girls should look feminine, just my thoughts and others may feel different l guess

Hi Anna, I'm not sure if there is one round here, there are a few independent shops selling lingerie and nightwear where i live maybe I'll check them out, it doesn't bother me so much going into shops looking at women's lingerie anymore, I could always tell them I'm Trans ,

The winter is on its way here its getting colder by the day, I believe they have had some snow up in Scotland, it's not snowing where i live yet but i believe it's on it's way, so what happened to this climate change we are supposed to be having it's supposed to be warming up,

@rozalyne where l live Roz in Australia, in the southern part of the state of Queensland, it's subtropical and it starts warming up from October. It gets quite warm from October right through around May. I love the warm weather as l can wear summer skirts and bikinis and also summer nighties.

I know it gets quite warm where you live i stayed on the sunshine coast in 1997 in June and it was something like 20 degrees which was warm for us, me and my wife were walking round in Tshirts, we had a great time visiting all the sites we went to see the big pineapple and that place with the biggest pub, just a pity i was with my wife cos i couldn't wear a dress,

@rozalyne I used to live in a southern state called Victoria and l moved to Queensland as my current wife lived here before we got married, so l moved here to marry her and l love the climate,
We spent a few nights in Sydney before we went up the coast to the sunshine coast, I wouldn't mind coming back, I would like to go to Alice Spring's

@rozalyne we were having quite warm weather here however the last week it has been raining, very unusual weather for this time of year, our wet season doesn't usually start till February, so l am guessing our summer is going to be warm and wet. Not exactly the summer l was hoping for but l guess it is what it is

I've ever only lived in rural towns myself, I'm not a lover of big cities, you don't seem to have the space to breath in big cities, where i live now is the county town of Shropshire even though the countryside is right on my doorstep, we can get in our car and Wales is only a few miles down the road, we have lived here for 24 years and i still only know a few neighbours here we are not people who socialise a lot, I'm not sure how many people actually live here but it's tens of thousands,

@rozalyne my grandparents all lived in regional areas and my father was born in regional area but my mother was a city girl , so my siblings and l grew up in the city, l am the only one out of my siblings that lives in regional area and l love it. It was always my dream when l was younger to own a house in regional Queensland and thanks to meeting my wife , she made it all possible. I think l am very lucky and fortunate that my wife is so supportive and caring. Where l live people are a relatively close community and everyone knows each other that's why l am very much in the closet.
Hi Jane, I've been in the closet all my life, when i started dressing back in the 1960's it wasn't what boys did back then, as I've grown up it seemed the thing to do was keep it secret even from your family and friends even when i got married i kept it secret from my wife if i was to come out to my wife after all the years we have been married I'm sure she would feel betrayed, the thing is she doesn't understand why some men want to dress up like women, so i think i shall carry on as i am and dress when ever i get the chance, she has opened the door for me to dress up when ever i can by saying that we should have separate holidays like i did at the end of August when i went away by myself to a military show that was for the whole weekend but i went from Thursday to Tuesday, every night in the hotel i wore a dress and even went out with a skirt and top on, so looks like a lot more holidays by myself next year,

@rozalyne hi Roz, that's where l am lucky that my wife accepts and encourages my crossdressing however being in such a small community everyone knows us. It's just about us going where nobody knows us and me working up the nerve to go out in public, l know only l can push myself to do it. Once it's done once l realise it gets easier, l guess l am a bit of a coward lol. Of course we have a lot going on at the moment as well getting so close to Christmas...... HUGS XX Jane
Hi Jane, it takes a lot of nerves to go out Enn Femme, I know how hard it is it took me a long time to pluck up the courage to take the first step out of the door,
I'm wondering if i can get to go somewhere on my own next year and stay in a hotel will i have the courage to go to the restaurant in a dress 👗 and eat a meal, I could tell them I'm trans and see if they accept me,

@rozalyne yes it does take a lot of courage, however it all takes time. Some of us never get to that point, l guess all l can do is wait and see. When l am inside at home with just myself and my wife, l spend most of the time in crossdress and l love it.
@rozalyne yes my wife and l have been talking about going for a picnic early next year. We don't have the time right now as we have too many commitments.
Sometimes i wish i had come out to my wife, I'm not sure she would understand and I'm not sure my family would understand either, I think it might be nice to have that option, to be able to dress whenever it took my fancy,

@rozalyne although l have loved dressing for many years when my wife and l got together l had stopped crossdressing so she didn't know l enjoyed it and one day l said to her let's both put on each other's clothes and from then l said l would like to wear a kilt and later l said l want to wear panties full time as they are comfortable and then we we went to thrift shops l showed her skirts and dresses l liked. She was agreeable at every stage. So it was gradually and now she even applies my nail polish once a week.
Sounds like a great arrangement Jane, maybe i could do the same sometime in the future, I suppose there's no harm in asking,

@rozalyne l have always been honest with her and she has been with me. She collects reborn dolls as a hobby and l crossdress, we do all we can to make each other happy. I guess asking is all you can do and it doesn't hurt. My nails get done weekly as l work in the garden a lot and that doesn't do the nails any favours. Sometimes my wife does my make-up and other times l do it, l am slowly getting better at it 😆
Hi Jane that's what i need to do practice putting on my make-up, I'm not so bad at putting on my lipstick, it's all the other stuff that i need to practice, like mascara and eyeliner and blusher, it's not easy being a girl,

@rozalyne hi Roz yes it's a lot of work being a girl. Since l have been dressing l have a deep respect for all the work ladies put in trying to look their best. I used to think what takes girls so long getting ready to go out but now l respect all the work it takes and the time it takes. My wife takes no time putting her make-up on. I struggle to do my face but l am getting better bit by bit and once l have done my make-up my wife does finishing touches and also helps with my wig. I have 3 wigs .
Hi Jane your wife has probably had a lot more time to perfect her make-up skills than you, girls start learning about make-up in their early teens like when they reach 13teen or 14teen ,when they start to change from a girl to a woman, girls like us have a lot of catching up to do, my make-up skills are practically nil,

@rozalyne that sounds like a great idea. As l said at the moment we have too much going on time wise, however once things settle down l am going to put some time aside just for practising putting make-up on

@rozalyne I've been spotted en-femme a couple of times in a hotel. Once standing on my balcony in a wedding dress, the other walking through the reception area and up to my room in a swing dress with petticoats and wearing heels which makes me blooming tall and swishy I got a few passers-by glancing up at the balcony.
In the hotel communal area I got a few nice smiles and didn't feel that awkward. I'd had to park a distance away and walk through the grounds and into reception.

Hi Anna, when i stayed down in Kent back in August i stayed in a Hilton hotel, where the car park was you had to walk past the dining room infront of everyone and past the reception, I found a side door where you could go out and come back in without going past everyone so this allowed me to go out Enn Femme, if i stay there next year i just might come and go past everyone and wear some fem clothes, if anyone says anything I'll just tell them I'm trans,

@rozalyne The wedding dress was in the centre of Harrogate. The walk en-femme was at a hotel near Gatwick Airport. I live in the SW but do get around quite a bit.

@rozalyne It will be good to see your photos. If you can store a dress, the best place to look is a charity shop for a wedding dress. I was lucky to find one that was a perfect fit.

I'm like that too Anna, I need a size 20 in the shoulders but I'm a size 16s in the waist, i need to lose some weight from my waist, I would love to be at least a size 12s in the waist if not a size 10s i would love to have a flat stomach,
I'm definitely going to keep my eyes open for a wedding dress the only thing is where will i store it, i could do with a girlfriend near to where i live who would allow me to store all my fem clothes at her place,

@rozalyne Temu, Amazon, and there are a ton of online specialty shops but more money. I find long peignoir sets are becoming scarce. Don’t know what I’ll do when my wear out.
They are out there, but you jave to look a bit harder to find them. I still see them in all the major depaetment stores, but rhere are tons online at all the lingerie sites. Herroom has a huge selection.

I know that this will sound ridiculous but I have 3 nighties that are very femme, in attractive colors, and material other than cotton. Very comfortable and leaning a little toward the sexy side. However, cotton in clothes for women is softer and more comfortable than cotton made for men stuff. Where did I find them? Hard to believe but in thrift stores! My guess: someone bought them for her and she didn't like it or she broke up with the guy who gave them to her or maybe weight change. No sign of wear. After going through the wash they are very nice to sleep in. Pleasant dreams!!

They are out there in the shops but also online. If you want the retro styles or vintage style then places like E bay sell them but some can be a bit costly on auction sites.

I have four nighties from Xdress. The last two were from the 'glow' collection they are currently selling. Am I cheating being femme by going with lingerie designed for guys?
Cold Australian winters (at least by our standards) are not conducive to nighties. But between November to March, yes silk nighties and Pj's and a silk dressing gown. same fabric for camis and french knickers.Bra and forms are a given.
Hey I worked hard enough and long enough to be able to afford them and as I have atated in the past "hearses dont have trailers and shrouds dont have pockets". You cant take it with you...

Yes, be a devil and lash out..... My Go to silk brand is Ginia, gorgeous dressing gowns, nighties, camis and french knickers/ Love and Lustre is another lovely one.
For bras and knickers, Simone Perele and Wacoal. Arianne out of Canada WAS lovely but they closed down. "SP" have clearnce stores here in Oz, dunno if this applies in the UK
What Katy Did and Kiss Me Deadly are great too for other "unmentionables", but I think one of those brands is no more. Cant remember which one.

I've never had success shopping in person for gowns so now I only shop Amazon, where it takes a while to find silky sleepwear with pretty floral patterns. Fortunately, I like shopping for nightwear. Now winter is coming, and a cold bedroom, so I need to shop for the longest gowns I can find.
I know silk is the best option but I just can't afford those. Besides, I have never found satin to be uncomfortable.
As I close my eyes in sleep, the last thing on my mind is the deeply positive affirmation that comes from being embraced in the most feminine sleepwear I can find. Then in the morning, there are two other benefits. When I wake up and have tossed or turned in the night, satin slides with the blankets and my bedding doesn't get all pulled loose or disheveled in the night. Secondly, I now enjoy making the bed, with my soft feminine gown fluttering and swishing around with a pleasant good-morning message.

I drool at some of those ultra expensive vintage peignoirs. If you know of any, the frillier and gauzier the better! With a lovely matching negligee - wonderful! I’m still hoping for a resurgence in nightwear fashion! X
