Good morning and happy New Years Eve,
So my question is this, I only dress 2 days a week right now, and have no intentions of a public showing anytime soon because of where I live. So is it better to just go simple with a padded bra, should I really invest in forms? Kinda confused about this process
I started with a padded bra, then added small chicken fillets, before investing in forms. I find the weight and shape of them reassuring. Hugs, Anna xx
I wouldn't invest informs now.
What you are looking for in forms such as shape, size etc. may change over time.
Anna has a great idea, bra with fillers.
This will also give you an idea of bra style and brand works for you.
My thought on this is not to buy breast forms at this stage, if you ant to feel some weight in the bra I suggest cutting the feet off an old pair of tights (pantyhose) filling them with bird seed to the size to fill your bra and simply tie a knot the open end. It works best with full cup bras and will give you the shape and weight. One advantage of this method is if you decide to change the cup size of your bra you can adjust the amount of seed in the pantyhose feet to suit.
I have forms that I almost never use because of wardrobe. Nothing beats the look of taping and padding when I wear a lower cut top or show cleavage. I like my forms though if I am wearing something with a crewneck or the like. Then I can just add the forms, and they look great.
I vote for forms if you have the spare cash. I love to have forms and wear them around the house often, so they are nice to have even if you go out.
The amount one can spend on forms is pretty wide ranging. It is easy enough to buy inexpensive forms online, or high end ones as well.
There's a lot of great advice from everyone, but then this is the best place to get the help we need. For me it has been a bit of trial and error, I tried a lot of different things such as cutting some foam rubber circles and it filled my bras out great but you don't get the feel and weight you do from forms. And yes it's great to buy the less expensive forms to figure out what's best for you. I have tried the tear drop and triangle forms, for me I prefer the triangle forms.
Hon,
Since you and your SO are fairly new to having you crossdressing, but your SO is somewhat accepting, I encourage you to get silicone forms. Better check SO's bra size. Why? Whatever cup size she wears, you might be smart to get the next size smaller. Like, if she's 34D, and you are a 38-size chest/sport coat, you'd have to stay with C-cup probably. Amazon has nice Vollence C-cup 800g forms for about $35USD that for me I even sleep with them in an underwire bra.
Since your profile says you've just started, then be sure to learn about cup sizing, and how bra manufacturers use the same identical sewn cup and attach it to different bands. So might be a 34D has the identical cup as 36C or 38B etc. as I understand it.
Yeah... hmm if she's a 38A then skip that part!
anyway, if you get the right forms, then walk out into the living room, and she determines her chest is bigger than yours, you never know, that alone might put a solid smile of approval on her face. Your profile pic looks pretty, so if you have that makeup skill, wow you go for it dear. I would love so much to read later that your good looks have overwhelmed the SO into complete acceptance and encouragement.
Affectionately,
Dani
Wearing breast forms is a wonderful feeling, much better than the homemade do it yourself alternatives. You can get inexpensive Vollence forms on Amazon. If you are thin, get teardrop shapes, if you are heavy, get triangle shapes. Don't go for humongous DD's, stick to B or C cup to start. And don't sleep in them, the silicon gel forms will leak at the seams eventually. For sleeping, you need solid gel forms which are more expensive.
I can't speak to padded bras, as I haven't worn any, but I've worn breastforms before and they are amazing. They can get reaaaaaally expensive, and they can be very trial and error so probably not the best way to start unless you are financially comfortable.
Now, the reason why I went right off-the-bat with breastforms is because I wanted something I could wear without a bra, and that I could fit into different kinds of clothes - like bikinis, for example. A really neat thing about the ones I currently enjoy is that they are sticky and so when they bounce they feel like they're part of my body instead of something that I'm wearing, and it's such a nice feeling. Especially because it gives me a sense of confidence that they're not going to slide around or anything if I move too fast, you know? Like I could go for a jog and they would stay right where they are.
Anyways, all of this is to say that you should consider two things: your budget and your use case.
For example, if your budget allows for a nice pair of forms, but you're just dressing up a little bit and hanging out at home, then padded bras are probably your best bet. But if you're going to be trying on a lot of different outfits, where a padded bra might not be suitable, then breastforms might just be worth the investment!
I've tried taping my chest wall to create cleavage but I don't have alot of loose tissue there. Silicone forms can be attached with an adhesive and they are great to use when you're wearing a backless dress, but you can't show cleavage - I have tried but haven't found any way to mask the interface between the form and my skin. A chest form allows you to show cleavage but you have to hide the edges of the form, with a choker necklace and either the sleeves of a dress or long hair
Thank you all for your insight, opinions, and personal experiences. After reading all of your responses, I have decided to start out small and cheap and experiment with padded bras. I feel this will help me get used to operating with a larger chest, and then I can move towards forms in the future.
I am a very slim lady, 5'9 and about 110lbs, so my target cup size is a modest B. A is just a little to small and C would just look so weird on my body type.
Thank you all again for help with this topic
