OK girls I have a question. If there are any spouses or naturally born women who can answer this it might help but anyone who knows feel free to chime in or with your opinion. OK I've been a crossdresser for years and like a lot of crossdressers I've talked to pantyhose seem to be the starting item of clothing for this journey and lifestyle. Now I lover wearing hose and I can't dress without theme but my wife and actual women all seem to dislike pantyhose. Can anyone explain to me why actual women don't like hose. And next question why can't guys wear pantyhose. I'm not talking about us crossdressers but why is it against the social norm to wear such wonderful leg covers. Kings and lords wore them in the past so when where and why can't men wear them now? Anyways hope to spur a conversation love you all. Sarina
Honestly from what I've read it's the fabric that they are made of that when it contacts the skin it can evoke pleasure responses in the brain I assume since as a males we aren't used to wearing that kind of thin fabric so when we try it for the first time it can be a rush combined with the feminine appearance from wearing them since we are used to seeing women with them. It's sort of a trick we play with our brains. As for history I feel like men have always liked them just in recent history more women got into the style and men started not to wear them as much. I know the 1st time I tried them on it was a wonderful feeling. Its true if you look at history a couple hundred years ago men were wearing tights and wigs and giving off a feminine appearance all while fighting for a country lol Let's face it our forefathers were CD's the love for feminine clothing was always there. I wish more women would wear them thesedays but who knows it might make a comeback as fashion and trends usually do.
Joe Namath - a football player in the 70s - was known to wear pantyhose to help keep warm. As I recall, he even did a commercial for them.
I've worn pantyhose since I was 4 and just love them. I wear them everyday. I love how they feel on my legs and to the touch. Combined with heels they make my legs look their sexiest best. To me nothing looks or feels better. If they were awful as some women seem to claim, I would have known about it long ago.
When I began seriously cross dressing back in my teens, I loved wearing pantyhose with heels and a short dress and showing off my legs. I always bought the nicest pantyhose I could get that made my legs look their best. I got a lot of compliments on my legs and my pantyhose. A lot of girls would buy and wear the cheapest pantyhose they could find. They often would mention how my nylons were nicer than theirs and my legs looked so good in them. When they asked what I was wearing, it usually was some designer brand or department store style. I also wore more common brands a lot like Hanes Silk Reflections, Hanes Alive and Legg's Sheer Energy. They all made my legs look nice.
Some girls would comment that my pantyhose are kind of expensive. They usually just buy something for a dollar. I would tell then I wear dollar pantyhose too but I think the expensive, sexier looking pantyhose are worth the money.
I think if girls spent the extra green they would probably appreciate pantyhose more.
There is no reason at all why men can't wear pantyhose now. They choose not to or have all kinds of fears about bad things happening if they do. I wore pantyhose out openly with shorts before I began a full fledged cross dresser and I still do. I rarely go bare legged. If my legs are showing, most likely they are in pantyhose. Nothing bad happens. Mostly no one even seems to notice.
From what I've gathered the reason many women prefer not wearing pantyhose is the grief when having to use the bathroom. Next in summer, or warm weather, they can get very toasty. Last they require your nails, both toes and fingers to be smooth. Even the slightest defect on the nails can ruin them in a hurry which usually the run shows up when you finally have them up! Another problem, and it's real bad in the winter or cold months is static. They are a prime cause of computer problems where static, getting up or walking across a rug then sitting down can make for some interesting conversations. Nylon and static go hand in hand like ... crossdressers and ... fill in the blanks! LOL
For me, I prefer thigh hi's when going out, they are quick to put on and so easy to pee! They do wear faster tho. I do have many pantyhose none the less of course 😉

Ladies,When I am dressed as Michelle I always wear pantyhose, thigh highs or knee highs,it just makes me feel more feminine. When I am dressed in a nice dress or skirt ,to me,seeing my legs wrapped in nylon,I am one step closer to potraying the lady I want to be.
I wear pantyhose all the time when my legs are showing. Yes I do have to take them off sometimes when I go to the bathroom. Some pantyhose can get hot in the warmer summer months but so can anything else I wear. When the temperature and humidity rises, I tend to wear 100% nylon pantyhose or wear pantyhose with less spandex in them. That's not a hard and fast rule of mine though. Sometimes I just have to wear my Legg's Sheer Energy because I love how they shine in the sun. I think that's a very sexy and flattering look for legs.
In the winter months, the thin denier fabric of pantyhose is not practically enough to keep legs warm and comfortable in the lower temperatures. I'll just have the car warmed up when leaving the house and not plan on a long walk outside from the car to where ever I might be going. Still, just in case I might have to be outside for longer than I had hoped or planned, I bring along a pair of fleece leggings.
I keep my toe nails groomed and often wear shoe liners to protect the feet of my pantyhose. I also tend to not wear nearly invisible denier pantyhose. The pantyhose I wear mostly tends to be a bit more durable. And of course, always take along the pantyhose wearers first aid kit, clear nail polish.
I've worn pantyhose my whole life, I've encountered every problem with pantyhose possible. Still I love them so much I will never stop wearing them. And when all fails and that pair of pantyhose I loved has come to the end of the line, I put on a new pair. I've found there is something special about the feel and look of a brand new pair of pantyhose. I just love that. So begins a new love affair with another pair.
I, Do Not wear pantyhose do to rolling down and yo much of A problem when going to the restroom, I do prefer Thigh Highs with garter Belt or stay up lace and can walk much freer to walk with. And plus may I add that yes I have had many pair Of Joe Namath. I really hate the rolling of the pantyhose .

This thread inspired me to wear pantyhose under my slacks today. I usually prefer thigh-high as well, because of the bathroom thing. I sit down anyway, but I find them a hassle to pull down and up to do my business...
Pantyhose, hmmm. I've worn them almost everyday now for about 20 years. My personal thoughts about why women don't like them, as well as other clothes, is that they by the wrong size. If your pantyhose are to small, like yea they will be uncomfortable! I feel sometimes they may not want to admit they need a "bigger" size. Who does want to go bigger, but you have to wear what fits and is comfortable. I've worn mostly Hanes Alives size F, the chart says they shouldn't fit me. I have tired and do have many others, but it's just trial and error. I do not hide the fact I have hose on. You can find me many times in shorts or when I am on the road I enjoy a jean skirt. Enjoy your hose and don't worry what others think!
Yea to clingy support hose!

I'm always excited when I see someone get inspired Rose ... and with nylons no less! Where would we girls be without them? Hope you enjoyed your day to the fullest.

I totally agree. The wrong size pantyhose can be uncomfortable. Pretty, silky pantyhose in the right size are heavenly. I've worn them my whole life and pretty much everyday. When my legs are showing, I'm most likely wearing pantyhose, always in fem mode and most of the time in drab.
I've always wondered that myself. My fiance doesn't like them due to most stores not having her size, but she only wears them to interviews or special occasions where a nice dress is necessary. Also they can rip easily so it's not something she likes to wear regularly. And I definitely relate to the frustration of thigh highs rolling down (which is all the time for me). My biggest problem is when it got so cold outside that my stockings actually made me freeze.
A former friend made a good point about it though, most girls want to show off their legs and wear open-toed shoes; leggings and open-toed shoes are reportedly a faux pas.
We don't need much incentive to put on our hose, do we Rose! I just happen to have mine on today and loving it. I just wish I could wear them out with a nice skirt ... but I can always dream.

I do prefer thigh highs. I actually don't have much problem with them staying up, at least not at first. Once they got worn a dozen or so times (give or take), they can start to roll down. Still, pantyhose are nice once in a while, depending what else I'm wearing.
