I just love how stockings make me feel, that I wear them year round. I’ve read several instances that stockings with a dress in summertime is looked down upon. Well I’m here to tell you look down upon me all you want cause this girl is wearing her hose in the summer…. And with open toe heels to boot!
Thoughts anyone?

@ginger1968 I always wear hosiery when in Anna mode.. On hot days 5 or 10 dernier hold ups are perfect.

nylons - always
heels - always
I live in Tucson and it's 100 right now. AC is on. Guess what else is on? A dress, nylons, and heels,
@ginger1968 Well for me , pantyhose are an important part of my dressing as they were the first thing I ever tried on. Yes in the summer it gets pretty hot and humid here in Ontario, but inside with the AC on I don’t find it a problem. Yes I have worn pantyhose out in public in the summer evenings. I was in the check out line one evening at Walmart and I hear a voice from behind me say “ mom, that lady is wearing pantyhose in the summer” I thought oh no they are talking about me and got nervous until I heard the reply, “ if I had legs like that , I’d wear pantyhose all the time too”. Now I’m smiling ear to ear and calmed right now. So yes for me pantyhose all year long.
I wear support tights or thigh highs most days even when it's hot. I live in Southern California so there are plenty of hot days.
I wear them for the look and feel, and for leg health. Support hosiery has health benefits.

@lizk I have been diagnosed with a "tendency for varicose veins" and now wear compression socks and sleeves at home.
However, the Mayo Clinic says:
"Don't wear high heels or tight stockings, other than compression stockings."
That seems to be counterintuitive. In what way are tight stockings not helpful for varicose veins?
Beats me Harriette. I was told by my doc years ago to wear support hose to improve circulation that had been damaged in a car accident. She specifically said it should be 'graduated' compression. Maybe tight stockings aren't 'graduated'? As for the heels, most women (including this one) would ignore that advice.
FWIW - I found an Italian brand of support hose that looks, feels, and fits great. Solidea. They're very comparable to Wolford, Falke, etc.

@lizk Yeah, I don't see the relationship with heels, either. Tightening calf muscles shouldn't aggravate the problem.
I don't think that I have any graduated compression socks or sleeves, and I surely don't need compression on my feet yet. I will try to learn more about this.
@ginger1968 I agree with you. If we cared about what others opinion was then would we really be crossdressing l think not. Wear what feel comfortable in and what makes you happy
@ginger1968 ginger you go girl I myself fell in love with pantyhose when I was eight years old and they are my most favorite feminine item to wear but to blend in to society on a Saturday afternoon, wearing a dress and pantyhose is going to draw attention so you have to dress accordingly if you wanna blend, but every day I wear panties and pantyhose under my work clothes let me take that back. It’s very hot where I live so in the summer I don’t usually wear pantyhose but I can’t wait till winter lol.
@ginger1968 I always wear pantyhose when in femme mode. If I'm not wearing pantyhose, I simply don't feel femme. In fact, I became a crossdresser so I could wear pantyhose and show my legs in public.
@ginger1968 i’ve totally loved wearing pantyhose since I was eight years old I can’t tell you how many pairs of pantyhose I’ve bought in my lifetime I always under dress. I wear panties every day 24 seven and I wear pantyhose usually under my pants but I love where it’s very hot in the summer, so I don’t wear pantyhose underneath very often because it’s very hot. I can’t wait for winter, I’ve probably got 20 pairs of new pantyhose just waiting I know when this day and age women like to go bare legged but for women like us, we still love pantyhose I feel so feminine you got shave legs and you put them on that feeling is exhilarating just thought I would share
I rarely wear hosiery these days to me nothing tops the feeling of a skirt on my bare legs in the breeze

For those of us who don't venture out in femme mode and have the AC cranked up in the warmer months, it makes things a bit simpler. I don't think I'd be *quite* as much in love with my pantyhose if I were running around in August heat and humidity in the Midwest.
Cos of my age and creaky knees, I wear heavy duty tights in winter, pantyhose on some spring and autumn days, but on a 40C'/105f hot Australian summer day, no thank you.

When I am dressed as Michelle,I always wear pantyhose.Its part and parcel of being a lady,when in jeans its knee highs and in some dresses its thigh highs.I tried leaving the house without hose once and I heard this very commanding voice inside my head from my Mother,who has passed many years now at least 25 saying"Michelle,get back inside this house and put your pantyhose on.Never leave the house ,young lady,without your pantyhose".My reply was very simple,"Yes Mom".Mom always knew best and saw everything.HAHAHAHAHA.LOL.
I almost always wear pantyhose or tights, only when it gets above 85 degrees do I go bare legged. Where I live 70 is a hot day and anything above 80 is an extremely hot when day, besides when you get to be my age hosiery really make your legs look younger and more attractive.

It is very hot & humid in the summer here in Atlanta, but I do sometimes wear a pair of very sheer nude pantyhose with a dress and sandals, and I do not find them to be hot or uncomfortable. My painted toes showing through the sheer hose, I think, is kind of sexy looking.
On a side note, I have observed much younger women, late teens/early 20s, sometimes wearing very sheer nude pantyhose with very short shorts & sneakers with the no-show sox. It is difficult to spot, and the only real way to tell is if the sun shines off of their legs, then you can see they are in fact wearing pantyhose.
Hi girls, Everyone has a choice, and a voice. For me, I always have to have on either my thi-hi's or stockings, with heels Any time of year! And I know that I have great legs and love to show them off. Really helps me stand straighter, hold my head hi, and be proud to show the woman in me.
I am another for always wearing pantyhose or stockings. They are the one thing that makes me feel feminine more than any other single item I put on. I have a few pairs of open toe pantyhose for the days when I wear open toe shoes as I'm not sure why I don't like the look of your toes in pantyhose in the open toe shoes. I'm not sure what the correct fashion rule on that is but in my opinion it doesn't look great.
I love wearing pantyhose as well but its a little to hot in the summer for me to wear pantyhose
