Pinning hair and wig cap for wig wearing

I don't know if this will be helpful to anyone but when I started wearing wigs no one told me how to pin wig caps down.
<p style="text-align: left;">There is a certain way to pin both the hair and the cap down so there is not a bump where you put the wig on from the hair underneath. Pin curls to pin it down is the way I know best. I would look up how on YouTube if you don't know how to do that. Or wraping your hair if it's long enough is another way. I use bobby pins to hold my model's hair in place when I do either of these.</p>
When putting on a wig cap I find it eaiser to start from the front and pull it back. When it's on the head pull the middle of the cap on the back of your head until the band is just behind the hair line. You can lock it down with two bobby pins. When those are in place use hair pins (there is a difference. I learned this recently bobby pins clamp down together and hair pins don't is how I explain it.) To pull the back of the wig cap and pull it to the nape of the neck. Two hair pins, one for each side. Then take two more hair pins and pin both sides by your ear down. Oh when you do the pinning you go through the wig cap.

*When picking out a wig cap it's best to have one that goes with the wig. So not a white wig cap under a black wig (I learned this early on but the hard way)

*If you don't have enough hair for even pin curls you can take a one piece hair band and put that around your head for anchor points. It's a cloth band easy to find. After pinning the band in place you put the wig cap over and do the same steps from there.

*When applying wigs and makeup to my model it helps to do the the wig prep without the actual wig first then apply makeup and finally the wig.
