Waves! So i wear a size 18 ring, on my pinky finger. I take a XXXL glove.I am 6'4" think john wayne big. I wanted to start accessorizing. Finding my ring size is off the end of womens ring size charts and my wrist is inches bigger than the largest bracelets, i tried the stretchy ones. Nope. They will stretch but huge gaps are there. Any suggestions for jewelry for Ms. Jolly Green giant? My hands and arms feel bare!

Dear Megan

I too am looking for rings, but as I’m not ‘out’ I can’t try them on and it’s so difficult getting the size right.

if you are ‘out’ and you try on the jewellery publically you could always seek advice from the sales people.  Other than that I have only two other suggestions - get custom made jewellery or, maybe even better, maybe you could design and make your own collection.  There are probably a lot of us girls who would benefit from that if you went commercial!

hugs

Hi Megan,

As the summer approaches there are many small local craft fairs and flea markets one can visit.  Often local crafters make custom Jewelery.  In drab mode you can browse and inquire about a custom order with a specific design in mind.  The crafter earns an income from a sale so is interested in a selling you what you want. .  That crafter wants  your purchase so ask about a larger size ring, bracelet, or necklace.

Great ideas from Alice and Christine. I do think custom crafted is your best bet. Keep us posted, please.

Hugs & kisses,
W.

Megan -

As others have mentioned craft shows are a good place to look.  You could try things on and ask if they make cusotm items.  Most of my jewelry I have made myself.  I don't have pierced ears and finding clip on earrings is near impossible.  I either convert earrings for pierced ears to clip on or buy charms and make clip on earrings with those.  Necklaces are made with beads and/or charms using either stretchy string or leather cord.  If there is a good craft store near you they will have a section for jewelry making and you can find what you need there.  I find making my own to be an extension of my dressing an a way to express myself, it can also be cheaper in the long run.

XOXO

I recently went to an antique store and they had four trays of rings. I had fun with the nice and friendly gentleman that also had a ring size wand. We together found that I was a size 12.5 to a 13. I too have a problem with fitting jewelry. I found a diamond rind marquee with two little round diamonds made by cubic circonia on a rack in Macy’s. It was only 9.99 on sale. I still had to cut it myself and add tape between the gap. When you find someone who makes jewelry for us big finger people let us know. Oh wait, I did find jewelry in a beauty supply store and it even had clip on earrings. I still haven’t pierced my ears yet?  Keep looking because they are out there where you would least expect.

Unfortunately, size 18 is even off the top of the chart for almost all men’s rings makers too
