Can anyone recommend brands for primers and foundations? I have large pores and am struggling to find any consistent advice on engine searches.

Try the Benefit Pore primer it is a little pricey but it seems to do a pretty good job.
Arianwen.......howdy girl! I would suggest that you visit a cosmotologist for recommendations on your facial skin. L'Oreal Paris and Revelon have good sites for make-ups but they can only generalize what is best for you. Trying different things is costly and chances of finding what is best for you gets very costly. Good luck and I hope you find what you need.
