I had an excellent experience the other day in the salon because I went with a plan.
I found a couple pictures of a beautiful young lady on Instagram who had a breathtakingly feminine short hair style that could also work in DRAB settings. When the stylist asked me what I’d like, I showed her the pictures. Her had was on my shoulder and it seemed like the feel of my bra strap registered on her in the moment (I was underdressed). The combination of the amazing picture of the lady’s short hair style and what seemed to be the stylist’s recognition of the circumstances led to excellent service, engaging but discreet conversation, and a fabulous hairstyle I can style in slightly different ways for different needs!
And a VERY beautiful hairstyle it is too Vecca - thank you so much for showing it to the lucky few in the chatroom!
Hugs

Must be nice to still have enough hair to style 😉 I’m glad you had so fun and rewarding an experience.

What a lovely experience for you.

I’ve tried to let my hair grow out a bit, hoping to do the same as you have. I can’t seem to keep from getting irritated by the unruly mess it when it gets too long. So I cave in and get it cut back. I guess I’m destined to keep wearing a wig.
Lucky you that you could do it. Live to see a pic, if you have one.
Vecca, Ive been looking for a haircut which could work in both crossdressing mode and male mode. Could you please provide a photo of the haircut. The photo you used to show the hairdresser will do.
I suspect many if not most salons have dealt with crossdressers either implicitly or explicitly and are fine with it. They want a happy client, and if that means a femme style, so be it. My wax technician knows I dress and doesn't care in the least, she just wants me to be happy with hair free legs and styled eyebrows. The last time I had my nails done the technician tried hard to get me to do a color, so obviously didn't care.
We are just one part of the diverse spectrum. of gender and expression out there, and salons are used to such diversity, so schedule an appointment and have done what you want how you want it.
I have a standing appointment at the salon to keep my brows very feminine. The lady who waxes my brows knows I am a crossdresser and there is never a problem with anybody at the salon. She once asked me if she could her friends at the salon about my crossdressing and I replied"Yes,please do,there are no secrets in a salon."I always receive excellent service and am made to feel very welcome.
I could only wish to inhabit the body of the beautiful young lady in that video.
If the style that Vecca showed doesn't tickle your fancy, do a google search on the singer Pink. Over the years she has had many different styles, pretty much all short. I've picked one and put it on my phone so when my hair gets long enough...
Thanks a lot Vecca, alas I can't have my hair like that but I will consider some of the other styles that came with the video.
Oh, to be young again.
Unfortunately, I will never again have enough hair to have a femme or unisex haircut.
