Winter is fast approaching and for those of us in colder climates we will need to wrap our legs up in something warm. Leggings, pants and jeans are comfortable, attractive and warm but not sexy. We want to wear our skirts and dresses with our sexy legs showing. So we wear our cold nylons and dash from the house to the car and to wherever. The other option is opaque nylons or tights, again warm and attractive but not sexy.
So what's a girl supposed to do? I stumbled on this idea last winter and if you have never heard of it you should try it.
We all have fishnet stockings, be honest, we all try them because they're sexy. Put on a pair of fishnets first then put a pair of nude or light denier nylons over them. You can use regular stockings, thigh highs, pantyhose or any combination. They are sexy and the air pockets created by the combination of fishnets and nylons keeps you fairly warm.
Now I my legs are sexy and warm and I don't have dash (and risk falling) and I can walk normally.

Do you have any empirical data to support this?
I've worn black pantyhose with black fishnets and the effect is very sex, but I had my fishnets on the outside, not inside. Quite the Gothic look. (Hmm, a Hallowe'en idea. I could be Granny Goth and hand out black licorice in my black fishnets and pantyhose!).
I'll try the inside approach now that the weather is cooler in my part of the world.

Btw, I wore 100 denier HUE black tights two nights ago on my neighborhood walk and I was toasty warm! They felt really nice too. Has a firm, but invisible panty to lock everything in place and flatten my tummy (cue the endorsement cheque).

Living in NW Canada, I'm pretty used to the cold. And it is a great excuse for wearing my comfortable and warm leggings around the house (and my wife lets me get away with wearing them in front of her especially when I'm cooking supper like I did earlier this evening).
Now to the point of your topic. I appreciate your suggestion of fishnets and nylons. For me, sexy is a state of mind moreso than a certain type of dress. I see a woman wearing a pink fuzzy sweater and tight blue jeans and to me that is extremely sexy. I have that outfit and love it. No question that a dress or skirt above the knee is wonderfully sexy but even a skater skirt over black leggings is sexy to me (and I have that outfit as well). And certain color combinations make an outfit look sexy (dare I say black and red!!). And how about a cozy sweatshirt that falls off of one shoulder exposing the bra strap - whoa super sexy.
So definitely, I agree with you, a gal can look sexy and be warm at the same time. Stay warm (and sexy), Have a lovely rest of the week, Hugs, Krista.
Scientist? Well, kind of. Twenty plus years ago I worked in R&D for a water filtration company. I was the testing and analysis technician. Although I wasn't in the theoretical group the science tends to rub off on you.
As for Halloween, I plan on wearing black tights, a frilly white shirt, a black cape, a large black hat with feathers and a half mask. The Phantom of the Opera. Of course this goes with my DJ system being set up with a few flashing lights playing scary music.

I can say I have worn black or red fishnets over nude tights, they looked really good....and yes, the warmth IS there....not tried it the other way round...yet
I did wear tights under my trousers when I used to go winter fishing ......in fact I know lots of " he men " that did...mostly for the warmth....in guessing😂😂

Something to keep in mind when going out en femme this winter. I have gone out at work when there was sub zero temps underdressing with leggings and or tights. The extra layers helped a lot.

Like you Beth this girl avoid pants and it's siblings as much as possible so I already bought some thick winter skirts to wear. Now for the legs high boots does help but I have something that could be considered winter pantyhose.
Imagine that you take some thick beige nylons first and then put on some thin black ones on top of that.
They come in different thickness and besides keeping you warm they also hide your skin imperfections.
I got mine at https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001771776203.html but you can probably find them at other places also and then with thicker fleece under the black nylons. Keyword to search for is "Flawless Fake legs"
Besides that this is one time when I do wear leggings but of course under the skirt/dress. I also wear leggings under my pants when out in drab. (why buy long johns when I have leggings 🙂 )

I've always found that buying ones self a few pairs of wooly tights and wearing longer skirts or dresses is a great way of looking sexy and feeling warm too. I've always made sure too that I've got a pair of ankle boots 👢 for the winter too as Always getting splashEd on my legs by puddles. I sometimes wear trousers too if it's really cold but it has to be Arctic for that too happen though as not keen on them. Long boots help keep ones legs warm and big undies help too especially if you wear a corselette as found that keeps ones whole body warm as no gaps between ones knickers and bra.
If really cold ive always worn black tights with black fishnet tights over the top of them. Layering is essential if it's really cold
