I've never been one for wearing shapewear. Some years ago my wife suggested I buy a girdle to help even our my midsection a bit. I did and found the girdle to be a near torture device. It certainly worked it's magic but it left me feeling simply terrible. So, I vowed to avoid such devices from them on opting to let control top pantyhose be the only shaping device I would use. Last week I fell for a targeted add on social media for a new shapewear product promising to lift my butt, suck in my gut, and give me a beautiful silhouette without any physical discomfort. In fact the girls wearing them said they even forgot they had them on. I decided to throw $20 at a Shapermint high waisted shaping short to see if it was anything close to what they were claiming. My expectations were low. When it arrived I put it aside somewhat afraid to open the package. This weekend my wife and I went shopping and she bought me a new dress for spring. When we got home she wanted me to model it for her as she usually does when we return from our shopping trips. This time she insisted that I use my new "girtie" as she calls it. I had almost forgotten about it but I went ahead and opened the package to try it on.
OMG -MAGIC! It did what was promised and, while I definitely could feel it on my body, it was not uncomfortable. My dress looked amazing and I felt a new level of euphoria. I kept it on for over an hour waiting for the pain to kick in but it never did. My confidence when wearing the new shapewear increased tremendously and I felt like I had a new super power. My wife, impressed with my reaction, decided to order one for herself.
I'm probably late to the party but I wonder how many more of us have found a new super power in modern shapewear?
PS. This is not intended to be a commercial endorsement for the product I bought but only a reflection on my experience with it.
I am a big "girl" with a bit of a beer belly. I always wear shape-wear while out and about. I wear both open bust high wasted shorts and high compression wired bra cami's. The shorts help to hold my dresstech hip pads in place as well. The issue I always had was when I needed to use the restrooms. It was next to impossible until I found some that had an open gusset to allow bathroom use. I have gotten use the the mild discomfort. The things we do to look as good as possible.
Hi Michelle, endorsement or not, just bought (2) & their leggings as well. Thank you dear.

Hi. I use Honey love Super Power shorts or brief under most dresses and skirts. They have a large variety of quality products and they don’t roll down or up. I find them to be comfortable. My wife uses them too.

I always loved shapewear, especially my OBG with garters, until I began going out. Someone in our group made the comment that I needed more in the hips/butt area to balance my figure and my shapewear was doing the exact opposite. I was able to find some that had the padding I needed to solve the problem.
When I don't wear the padding I do like to wear my control top pantyhose for just a bit of shaping.
I’ve never worn shapewear with exception of a corset because they are so sexy and I did like how it thinned my waist and mid section giving me an hour glass figure.
Recently, I felt I needed more hips. I think I’ve thinned out a little there as I’ve gotten older. I ordered a hip enhancer and when I tried it on with one of my dresses it was like OMG! Instantly my figure was transformed and the hour glass shape was evident! I love the look it’s given me. My figure is very convincing and the complements from a few that know me have been overwhelming. I’m sold!
I often wear shapewear and can go about 12 hours in a corset.
Hugs,
Anna xx
Yes! Also late to the shapewear party and I've been crossdressing for over 50 years.
Now I wear and totally enjoy putting my shapewear over my panties and pantyhose.
Really, really adds to the joy, look and experience...
Hi Anna. Trying a corset is very much on my own ‘to do’ list! Any recommendations?

Hi Michelle,
Shapermint does carry some nice products. And some of the bottoms are available in a high waist model to reduce your waist along with holding in your tummy.
For is plus size girls they carry sizes to 4XL.

20years ago, I loved being "tightly corseted" with an underbust to waist model. Especially if I had one of my period gowns on my bod and same again wig on my head.
But I got old and "dont care", so these days I just let it "all hang out".
(Well not "all of it". If I did that and posted photos I'd be banned from this site...)

Sorry I’m late to the party must ask are they breathable as well I personally never tried these types of clothing so I’m interested indeed I get mine from silicone bottoms but depending on what your doing dose get hot and your start to sweet thanks for posting this to use
I love my body shaper erases that little bit of a mushroom that creeps up above my waist line. And the cool silky feel between me and my dress. mine goes from just above my knees up to just under my breasts. it not only feels like Im being hugged all day long but it also helps support my back too..
I just re-ordered more of my shaping solution - stretchy enhancer shorts with foam pads. I have separate pairs for hips and bum, which I wear together. One advantage is, two skin-tight elastic layers over your panties give pretty good tucking support without needing a specific gaff or being too tight, although you'd still need a skirt or a long top with tights or leggings. I also use a waist-cincher with my tighter dresses, which really helps to anchor the shorts in place. A disadvantage is, all of this can be a bit hot in summer - but I'm in the UK, so that would normally only be a problem on a handful of days.
There are endless models of both types of shorts on Amazon. Just order a couple of sizes down from what the sizing charts suggest for your actual waist size, so that the stretch in the material has a chance to work and give you the smooth curved shape you want.
Being of a slender build I really have no hips at all, so I need quite a bit of padding on them. I go for the hip-shorts where the pads are a sort of 'Africa' shape, but to get my preferred profile, I have to add a little extra. The pockets in the shorts are are usually an inch or so larger all round than the shaped pads, so I keep the long edge of the pads flush with the fronts of the pockets, then in the rounded section at the back I add a pair of round pads kept over from an old pair of bum-shorts. Then wearing bum-shorts with their padding over the top, helps to hold all of this in place. I just make sure to check/reposition the four hip-pads when pulling everything back into place during visits to the bathroom.
I have a waist cincher I use on occasion which works well to hold things in. I also have 2 under bust body shapers with snap closed gusset (so much easier using the bathroom and tucking) my wife gave me. As mentioned by others I also have a muffin top. With some of my dresses if I don't wear them it looks like I'm preggers. The waist cincher has boning in it which can get uncomfortable after awhile but I do love the hug it gives me. They do add to my feeling of feeling feminine.
XOXO
