So, I always look at the boots at Goodwill, even though they never have anything big enough to fit my feet. But, last time I was there, amazingly, they had a pair of awesome knee high, high heel, black boots in a 12. So, of course, I got them. Problem is, they are a normal width, and are tight in a couple spots on my feet. I can walk around the house in them for a few minutes just fine though, and they look great. But, there is no way I could spend any extended amount of time in them. I really want to keep them, because I never find anything like this. So, I'm rationalizing, trying to come up with scenarios where I could wear them, but only for a short amount of time.

Please help me convince myself that I need to keep these boots... or tell me I'm an idiot and should immediately return the boots that I know are going to hurt my feet... whichever you think is applicable...

"All man made materials" so they're fake leather. So, I don't know how much they would stretch. Maybe I could get a couple of those shoe stretchers, and see if they would stretch enough to make them a little more comfortable.

You could not wear socks with them. Just wear hose.

Foot Fitter makes nice shoe stretchers, I have to stretch most of my shoes as I wear a 16 womens.  There is one model made to go inside of a boot.  I would suggest carefully warming the shoe with a heat source while stretching it, you can gain a little extra that way.

Do they have an " insole" fitted that could maybe be removed??

Grace, it only has the insole that looks like it came in the boot. I could probably rip it out to make more room, but I'm not sure what is under it, or if it's anything that would be comfortable to stand on.

Oh, I'm not opposed to trying to alter them. They're from Goodwill, I only paid like $8 for them anyway. Maybe I could try taking out the insoles, and just put in an arch support, or arch and heel cushion or something...

I have a nice pair of wedges, a nice pair of high heeled shoes and a beautiful pair of knee high high healed boots (probably 3-4 inch heel). I am getting rid of them all as I just got 3 pairs of flats and a low pair of wedges and a pair of 1 inch heels. The tall heels hurt my feet in 30 seconds. Not really practical if I am going to wear them for a longer period of time. Looks are not everything. Is that the old me talking?

Hi Birel,

A couple of suggestions:

If you have a cobbler nearby perhaps consult with them about stretching or widening the boots to fit your feet.

Second, years ago there used to be shoe stretchers to prevent leather from shrinking when wet.  You might find something at a flea market or shop that carries tools for craftspersons.

They sell shoe stretchers on Amazon, and they are not very expensive, I looked at them for a pair of heels, but then just strtched the with my feet
