Hi ladies,
I am looking for any of the mentioned services within driving distance of Atlanta Ga and I am striking out. The two I have found in the Ga area (Phoebe Cross and Regina of true you designs) have not responded to me. So I was hoping to expand my search and thought I would call on y'all here for assistance. Any ideas? I'm primarily seeking help with makeup application (an element I have yet to try). Thanks!
Hi Darcy,
As retail is reopening you might inquire at ULTA about a makeover or the cosmetic counter at your local Macy’s or other department store.
Alice
I tried my local Ulta here in Delaware and they are not offering any make over services at this time. I searched for salons in my area and emailed them. One replied, I have an appointment for next month. I have a whole day planed. Nails, Makeup, Wig Services and having lunch with a girlfriend of mine from my childhood that I haven't seen in years. Yes, she is aware because I told her the other day. We have been talking ever since.
I can't wait!!
I emailed several salons in my area. I was very upfront with who I was and what I was looking for. One replied and was very enthusiastic about helping up. I asked for a makeover and wig services, since they are a hair salon. I am having my nails done (full set) next door prior to my makeover.
That sounds amazing hun! Love to experience that.
Ashley.
I have never used Regina, but have been to Phoebe a lot over many years. I know she shut down during Covid but was going to open up a few months ago, but then heard she was having some health problems. Email or call her again.
You might want to take a chance and go to a makeup artist rather than a dedicated crossdressing service. Being honest with one is a good start. They will either agree or not.
Argh this is impossible! I have sent countless emails and crickets....
You would think Atlanta would have more to offer in this area.
So happy for you enjoy the whole day… pampering your feminine side…warmest regards. Leonara
That is exactly what I did - and the MUA was fantastic!
She'd never worked with a CD before, but was well up for it when I explained what I wanted.
I sent some pictures of a celebrity that an app had (fairly accurately) face matched me with, and the results brought total joy to me!
We exchanged emails and texts with ideas, so when it came to the makeover, we had not only a solid plan, but a nice rapport.
I was so pleased, I went back for a "Next level" glam makeover for going out, as opposed to the wonderful day makeup she'd already done.
I didn't realise that such things as mini lash clumps existed, or what they'd do to my eyes (or how fiendishly difficult they are to do for yourself!).
That's the other thing about a great MUA - they love to tell you the products and techniques, which are excellent transferable skills which add real and lasting value to the experience - so it's worth paying the price for a good one!

I have been lucky to visit several makeover services during my business travels. London has been the most amazing so far with visits to the Boudoir, BWBG, Adam & Eve, and Sugar n Spice. Had to keep myself busy 🤣🤣. Sadly it’s also the only time I truly get to be me.
Currently in Charleston on business for a few weeks and had the same problem as many others in finding a place for a makeover. Not worried about a long drive as Lisa from my hotel here so tried Atlanta and other places. I think many girls are correct in that Phoebe may not be in business any longer and Regina is currently moving premises. Expecting she tells me to be open again end of July.
I have been out before as Lisa but only driving, walking in the park, or a quick walk through Macy’s which was fun. The chance to go out shopping, lunch or dinner with the ladies during a makeover is an experience I’ll never forget and especially as it gave me more confidence to go to the mall now on my own.
You can also go to Sephora. They will do a make over as long as you buy product.
I went dressed up but with out makeup and they were fantastic. I use the one at Ponce City Market.
Also if you want to go Goodwill hunting with me sometime and then dinner or lunch. I would be thrilled to do it with you. I've been honored with being a hostess to other girls their first time out.

Darcy, did you ever find someone to do your makeup?
Michelle
I did actually. After a lot of emails sent and plenty of just no response at all I finally found a MUA that was willing to give it a shot. It was a lesson so it wasn't a full on makeover. I learned a lot and got a complete list of supplies I needed. The end result was good enough to give me the confidence to venture out a little. I went into a Goodwill store for a bit, didn't buy anything because it was pretty busy and I didn't want to stand in line and potentially have to speak to someone. I then went through a drive through for a drink. And eventually had to use the restroom and ventured into a Target and used the ladies room! This was all my first time out in public other than just driving around. It was scary but exhilarating!
