Hiya girls,

i hope I'm posting this in the correct forum.

So I'm trying to lose my belly fat/weight and I'm dedicated to getting it flat! So has anyone have any helpful advice on the best way to achieve this? I realise it's a pretty vague question lol but also I want to waist train in the process so does anyone have any recommendations of waist trainers or advice?

thanks 🙂

xx

Abigail, the waist training that I am familiar with is using corsetry. Tightening the corset and wearing it for long periods every day actually narrows the rib cage as the lower ribs are reshaped because if the pressure exerted by the corset.

I have a corset for 'instant' results, so would I have to wear it say a few hours a day? I was thinking about jogging whilst wearing one of those latex waist clinchers.

The waist cincher won't do it. You will need a steel bone corset and I think you need to wear it 12 to 14 hours per day. If you Google waist training you should get the information you are looking for.

Hi Abigail!   All the corsets and waist trainers in the world will not help you if you don't get on the right diet. I have lost 60 pounds in 1 year!!! How?

Throw away the salt shaker and never add salt to your food. No alcohol/beer.....I know hard to do but alcohol and beer contain sugar and lots of it. No more cokes or other sodas.....tons of sugar. Snack foor is loaded with salt and sugar. Anything canned is likely to be loaded with salt.

Salt makes the body and cells retain water and bloat.....more weight that is tough to get rid of. You may have to go on diuretics. Sagar justs turns into carbs which are fat. Breads and pastries are loaded with sugar and salt. Always check the labels for salt per serving as well as fructose/sucrose/lactose....all sugars.  30 carbs per meal. Salt 1200 mg per day. Eat smaller portions and go on Ketosis diet. Exercise doing walking/weights/bicycle equipment to keep those muscles toned in the abs. Now...get a waist trainer/corset. Make sure the corsets are steel boned, not plastic. A real good corset should not cost more than 100.00. You can get some really nice ones with fancy fabric and trimming for more than 100 bucks....do shop around though.  I hope this helps with your quest.

This is a general fitness thread! I like it. Basically as others have said, cut out all soda, try to eat simple healthy eats, less pasta and bread, and get out and go sweat for 20 min a day. Stronglifts 5x5 are the best! I used to do them, now I'm into tai chi/ martial arts in general but whatever floats your boat, yoga or Pilates or whatever else is fine too. You don't even have to go hard just give your body some resistance and make it routine, there's no need to be Schwarzenegger now. Change to the body like that is slow, but combined with proper nutrition, will yield results for a flatter tummy! And a healthier lifestyle.

Seriously though step 1 cut out all soda and as many sweets as you can. Then carbs, get proper sleep and drink enough water, google stronglifts 5x5 and do some resistance training. You need to work very, very hard in order to "bulk up" so if one of your fears is getting too jacked, then put that one to bed. People spend careers trying to achieve that. Pecs aren't gonna show up 'cause you benched 130lbs a couple of times just saying.

Go for it! Be the healthy you.

Hi Abigail.  Ahh yes tummy fat, the bane of our lives! too much beer, high fat foods like crisps, cakes biscuits, chips, kebabs, pies etc. Its really annoying how the foods you like most are the worst for you! it is true to say that if calorie intake exceeds calorie expenditure, then of course weight gain will follow. That weight gain usually falls on the hips or belly because of the larger surface area, also as we age, our metabolisms slow down, causing easy weight gain, we have all heard of 'middle aged spread' right?

So what can we do about it? well first of all, decrease your calorie intake and eat more healthy foods like salads, fruit and veggies. Set yourself a goal, as to how many calories you can have, everybodys different, they say 1500 calories for women, 2000 calories for men, but I think this is very loose and that some people will need more, and others less. Reduce your intake of very fatty foods, especially trans fats, saturated fats and the like, however we all need limited fats in our diets!

Exercises? , well, the good old-fashioned sit-ups are great for working the abs, as well as ab crunches. For weight loss and good all round cardiovascular fitness, try swimming, cycling or running. I run frequently, it keeps your thighs supple and strong. The beauty of exercising at home or at the gym is you can contour your body to help with your crossdressing! if you want nice legs, do leg exercises, if you want a nice pert bottom, try bottom exercises, you'll be a new woman!

Love Fiona xxxx
