I prefer the look and feel of vintage lingerie and clothing. Though I do own and wear a few very beautiful dresses in vintage styles, it is my lingerie that I love the most.
Exotic, elegant, erotic and just plain sexy. From the materials to the flat stitching that brings it all together. Most of mine is reproduction, but the style and look is still there. Long line bras, corselettes, with and without garters, garter belts, OBG's, panty girdles, etc. That firm hug that they give you and how different you see yourself compared to everyday wear.
Rago and Cortland make up the greater part of my lingerie chest, and both companies recently expanding their lines to bring us more. Now if 'What Katy Did' could just see their way clear to make their lines just a size or two larger....

Yes all started with my mum ,her lovely open bottom girdles ,pantie girdles ,lovely slips and half slips with plenty of lace and colours ,lace panties and seamed stockings ,bras for some reason didn't interest me but boy( or should I say girl ) they do now ,hate when I cant wear them when dressing .Loved wearing her undies ,had my own collection of her discarded items which I stored in an attic cupboard until they were discovered ,after that would wear her undies when I got the chance when alone in the house ,and sometimes my sisters girdles etc . Now of course I have my own lovely collection which includes OBG ,panty girdles ,suspender belts ,shape wear, bras ,panties ,pantyhose and stockings ,which I try and wear every day at various times and length of time depending on what I am doing and who's around ,I wish I had started this many years ago ,it used to be only the occasional time when I was alone in the house ,I had never tried under dressing , which now gives the chance to wear my lovely undies all the time or should I say nearly all the time .

There seems to be a common thread here with children of the 50's 60's and 70's. Dipping into moms or sisters closets. After the WW2 ends then the huge nylon industry didn't have to make parachutes so it turned back to making feminine wear. Every item had generous amounts of material and lots of lace and feminine color, no scrimping. Yet boys clothes remained drab so it is no wonder why we would want to see what we were missing.
At the start of my schooling in the 1960's I was envious of the bright colored dresses the girls wore and wanted to wear them. Luckily I had a sister who was my size and I started in her wardrobe. It was some years later in the 1970's that she had grown and I was able to plunder not only hers but moms wardrobes to. This was where I had the introduction to the gorgeous lingerie.
I am lucky to have some vintage slips and panties along with nighties of that vintage.
By the end of the 70's that fashion of pure femininity was all but gone. Girls were burning their bras. Shame as there were a lot of us who were desperate to wear them....
Omg what a beautiful question this is I've been searching for some vintage lingerie for a while now love to have a beautiful girdle just like the ones mother always wore on holidays she always looked gourgous in a girdle I would always compliment her while she was getting dressed and help her with her dresses to zipper them up
Omg yes how I remember when alot of girls would burn there bras lucky for me growing up in sixties mother had beautiful lingerie from full length slip's to beautiful girdles in 4 colts red blue black and beige and how wonderful it was to have her let me wear them also

For myself i love all the straps and pouring myself into a tight corset and getting that hour glass figure that we all want! Love the feel of vintage lingerie and feel and look so much more femme too 😍
Next on my list of things to buy is a open leg corselette as reminds me of when i first started being more femme in the late 70s and 80s my grandmother would tighten my corset until i could hardly breathe! I just wish i could get my weight down and figure back as felt so beautiful and was so passable as a woman. Im going to really start to work on getting back to that way as ive let myself go a little as had a family death and its knocked me for six. But ill get there i know i will as its the way i should be x
Beautifully stated Jennifer. Vintage lingerie, so feminine and so sensual and the only lingerie I own. I dress in lovely bras, panties, slips, nighties, nylons in the style and fabrics I so loved as a young boy. I just feel so wonderfully girly and feminine doing so...this is just the Girl I am...I like pretty silky girly things.
I started dressing in the late 50's. I so loved seeing the pretty things girls and my mom wore and I just so wanted to be a girl too. The styles and the fabrics of that period from the 50's to the 80's were the base for me of what a girl wears and I still do today and love it. I just cannot put on a dress without a slip under...it's just what Girls Do and of course lacy bras, lovely silky full cut panties with a garter belt and nylons just feel so lovely under a dress and make me feel so wonderfully feminine. I won't shy away from chiffon and nylon nighties either and worn with panties...well this girl loves wearing her vintage lingerie and is doing so at this moment...PERFECT!!!
I think all of us girls love vintage lingerie especially the more mature girls like me who long ago sneaked into their moms lingerie drawers and slipped something on for that first taste of our addiction. We were hooked for life after that and will never forget those feelings. The feel and smell of those fabrics was so exotic, exciting, and taboo.
Love all vintage lingerie and have fond memories of long leg panty girdles that all the girls wore at school. At that time all girls wore dresses and to catch a glimpse of a bit of the lacy fabric along the edge of a leg sent thrills through my mind.
Before everyone had home air conditioning the women would sometimes walk around the house without a top in their bras. I still have memories of seeing their ample breasts held by those white bras with the round stitching around the cups.
In the past I've owned vintage girdles and corsets but now only have reproductions of bullet bras and corsets and I love them.
Like I stated vintage lingerie is so so Wonderful I have girdles like the ones my mother always wore she always had beatiful lingerie .only wish she was here with me know to see how far I've become more femmine than when she fist seen me fully dressed
