Why do you wear breast forms?

After it almost became a reality, the thought of having extended time entirely to myself came up and I am not determined to dress as much as possible whenever that does happen. I am planning out what I can do within reason - paint my toenails, get a good (possibly professional) shave of the face, some natural lip colour, cheap mascara, panties (most likely bikini in a size XL (I wear 38-40 pants so I’m imagining I’m a size 18 or 20), something comfy from a thrift shop (fantasising about either a dark or very bright T-shirt dress), and whatever must absolutely go with what I find (ideally colourful tights)...

However, i do not plan on breast forms... ever. They seem like an absolute essential for most girls and I am curious why. I have always felt like natural contact with the clothing is essential and that has what has always made me feel like doing drag would never satisfy me. Perhaps it comes from the way that get tends to go to my chest, something that made adolescence a particular kind of hell but may reveal itself a blessing, but I feel like as much as form could make me *look* better they are just not necessary.

Lots of women are very flat and still very beautiful, though I may spend too much time wondering if they’re trans when I see them so I don’t think it’s fair to feel such a need to go big. I think a lot about wearing a soft bralette, but given the opportunity I may first get it could be excessive and I also know had I been born a girl I would go bra-less a lot! We’ll just see what texture I find near my nips when that day comes...

Hi Aolfe

I personally do not wear breast forms and have just ordered a full stuffed and padded bra from Etsy.  Don't know what it will be like but it will (I hope) give me the feeling of a woman and look natural underneath clothing.  Don't know if anyone else has done this but it seems easier than attaching breast forms.  I hope you and others will let me know what they think.  Whatever you do, you be you.

A padded bra is definitely something I am open to, but more along the lines of a standard padded A cup rather than something made for girls like us, like a little enhancement rather than a façade.

Even though I only crossdress in women's swimsuits with no intentions of any kind of MTF surgery, having breast forms tucked in with them just make them feel complete. There are times where I will not use them, times when I wear small forms, and times where I wear big forms. I recently discovered forms that are made with an inward curve on the inside so that cup over my existing tissue instead of a flat surface that pushes against my nipple area.

I did make an investment in a breast plate. The realistic feel, bounce, jiggle, and cleavage brings the awesome to a whole new level, but using it makes me sweat a whole lot and takes away the feel of any kind of clothing far more than just having 2 forms on my chest. So I have this investment that I am not even using nearly as much as I thought I would.

I have three C Cup  pairs and would not be without them. Two are the type that have the "Sticky silicon pads" on the back to adhere to your chest. The more expensive they are the more sticky pads they have,. BUT! , despite some of the publicity, at least for the cheaper version, They will on stay on braless.

I alternate with these at night in a nice lacy bra. (My SO and I sleep in separate rooms).

The third, "Gold seals" use double sided tape and adhesive wipes to adhere to your chest and are the ones I wear a/. braless at night when my SO is absent and b/., are my "go to's" when ever I go out in public. They make me feel "just right", especially when encased in one of my favorite Fayreform Coral bras. They fit just right and are ever so comfy.

For me, breast forms are just about the ultimate way for me to express the "Caty in me". Almost everything else in the male /female spectrum can be duplicated, but not "C" cup breasts. Sleeping bra less and having them just "hanging loose" is such a femme feeling.

Now if only I could go hairless all over... My last and "Unconquered" CD mountain.

(Tho at the wrong side of 70 I aint got much on my head. (LOL)

Happy dressing

Caty

I can naturally almost fill an A cup and have several A cup bras. But I save these for day and night time "underdressing". If only to give my poor old pectoral muscles a break from wearing forms!!...

Stephanie, as usual, you’ve answered this question with more “a-plomb” than I ever could! I haven’t been without forms while en femme for so long, I can’t remember when last I went breastless. I may have asked the question “why” I do in the distant past, but forms are now as essential to me as a wig, a skirt and top. I’ve always been in the closet, but if I ever were to go public, I would not leave home without them (forms)!

I, too, went thru the “biggest is best” phase, but then it dawned on me: I want to present as close as possible to a low profile, “average, older lady.” And with my small male frame, that does not mean H-cup forms! So, oddly enough, have settled in to my “go to” bra and form size, very close to what you’ve stated: triangle silicone forms, 1197gm, fitting oh-so-snugly into a 40B pocket bra. I love it. It’s me. There is no “why.”

So many girls, so many reasons

To emulate the female form we love so much to the best of our ability. To repeat some others:

Nothing shouts girl from afar better.

It makes the clothes fit and fall right.

For some it helps with identity, when they look down they can instantly see their femininity even without a mirror. The shape and form is there even in a silhouette or shadow. I like the feel, for myself and others, the weight, movement and the firmness that you just don't get with a padded bra, its far more realistic.

Thank you! This is really helpful for me too in terms of picking out clothes when I get the chance. I can see myself open to the idea of (small) forms when I start coming across band issues, though I’ll probably lean toward bralettes in general for the softness... it’s crossed my mind a lot that given how long àround I am a lot will be assumed about cups.

hearts and rainbows,

aoife

I love the feeling of having breast and they help fill out my tops and dresses. Breast are the most femmine body part in my opinion, they scream look at me I'm a pretty girl.

An impressive bust takes attention away from an unconvincing face, a lack of shape elsewhere (except legs, with which I'm somewhat over-blessed!) and anything else non-feminine about me.

I love the weight, and the natural feeling bounce, which enhances my walk and general posture.

Once I'd tried forms, there was simply no going back for me - it was like finding the right accessory. D cups for me. I tried other sizes but bigger is ungainly and smaller doesn't get the shape for my tall frame.

Women seem to like them on a CD too...!

But you're right - the feeling of the garments is one of the big pleasures in dressing this way. It's a personal thing!

Love Laura

Hi Aoife, I have a set of breast forms but I hardly ever wear them. They fit fine but I prefer the feel of my natural breast in a bra.  I have about 40 bras, half of which are bralettes.  I have a small to medium frame so an A or B cup just works fine for me.  I pass quite often at the grocery store or in restaurants (much to my wife's displeasure) without having to wear the breast forms.  Play around with different styles and sizes of bras to find out which gives the best look for you.  Take care,

Hugs, Krista

Hi, Aolfe
My far-from-expert opinion is that the need for breast forms depends greatly on the clothing you wear. I do own a set of forms, but don't use them. I also own a couple of tops which hang loosely on me if I don't wear forms. Being blessed with 36A cups, I can look decent without a bra - IF I remember good posture: head up, shoulders back. Otherwise, a padded bra or one with chicken cutlet inserts does well for me. Unless you're like me, a 36A or B, plus a little something to fill the empty space should be perfect (presuming you are also not a member of the Bigger is Better club).

I love my breast forms and purchase them at a retail store here in Seattle.  That way I can get the right fit for my bra.  Being a 38ddd gives me a nice bust line for my body.  I love the shape, weight and compliments I get when I'm out.

Aoife, I will also have sometime here in the future to be in full Angela mode. I like how breast forms look and feel on me. They make me feel more like a woman.
