Hi Ladies, I'm a bit of a pantyhose gal. But I really have pretty simple taste in hose. (Leggs Sheer Energy is a delight to me) And now and again I don't mind paying a bit for Berkshire Silky (abbsolute favs) and I've heard Donna Karan are to die for. But recently I saw a pair of Wolford pantyhose on ebay for over $40! What gives? Are they that great? Anyone who knows please give me a yell. I'm tempted but hate to drop that kind of money for "meh." Thanks!
I don't know anything about Wolford pantyhose but when I was growing up in the seventies legg's suntan sheer energy pantyhose were my favorite I must have bought at least couple hundred pairs of pantyhose growing up I simply Loved dressing up as a girl
Me too! 😊
When I was young and just starting, I absolutely adored pantyhose. Now that I am a little more mature, I (like most women) have grown to despise them, and rarely ever wear them. That being said, there are times that hosiery is required. I have worn Wolford, and found them to be highly over-rated, and not nearly worth the $40 price tag. Berkshire and Leggs are both excellent value-based hosiery. But, if you really want to treat yourself, spring for the $20 pair of DKs. The material is sublime, and is surprisingly sturdy. You won't be disappointed.
Thanks Caitlyn! You sold me. DK it is!
I like Wolfords, and have seen them for much more than $40.
However, there are plenty of other brands which cost less money, and feel even better. I'm not talking about ones in the Target (although I like some Leggs Sheer Energy), but Platino, Cecilia de Rafael and some others I'm forgetting right now.
Thanks for all your replies everyone. Unless they're bulletproof for durability I think I'll be good and hold off. (for now...😇)
I find Leggs ACTIVE Support Suntan Sheer Energy pantyhose the best. Usually the CVS and Rite Aid stores nearby me have them for 6 or 7usd. The only problem is that they lately only have them during fall and winter
so every time I find them in the store in my size Q size they usually have a only 3 or 4 pairs so I generally buy all of them.
Recently I need some but I couldn't find them locally so I call the 800 number on the box
They suggested I go online were they sold them minimum order 4 pairs i was told

I have a pair of Wolford pantyhose and I love them! They are so comfortable, supporting and flattering. They also keep my legs warmer during fall and winter seasons.
What makes Wolford pantyhose worth $85 a pair?
If I could afford Wolford, I'd buy them exclusively. They ARE comfortable, but they also last forever. And they never lose their shape.
Two more brands that feels amazing is No Nonsense Women's Yoga Waistband Tights which I wrote about in another of your posts. The other is Dim, which is from Europe. Very comfortable and stretchy and more form fitting without being too tight. I found Berkshire losing their elasticity after a couple of wears.
I think one of the key materials in Dim is polyamide. If you find any other hosiery (or clothing) with that, it's guaranteed to be soft.
Several years ago, I was in a lingerie store that catered to CD's. I noticed some Wolford Neon Fatals. I noticed a pair of shiny tan called Gobi. They were sheer to waist with no seam or gusset. I had to have them.
I tried them on. OMG. Amazing. They felt so incredible on my legs. The seamless panty and no gusset was a sensational experience. I wanted everything she had in the shop, until I found out they were $50 a pair. I never heard of pantyhose being that expensive. I wore the pair I had on in the shop, went out for a little stroll with some other girls and wore the pantyhose home. I bought the pair I was wearing and wanted more but the price was prohibitive. Stil, these were very special pantyhose. Unlike anything I had worn before.
I decided to just take my credit card and buy all she had then pay for it later. Besides, I figured I would pay $50 for that special pair of shoes or dress. Why not for a super pair of pantyhose. I bought 3 more pairs and asked her to order more. Over the next few months I bought several pairs. I tried to buy at least 2 pairs a week. But it seemed like they were getting hard to get. Eventually they were not available anymore.
Around that time I also discovered at Victoria's Secret, their own version of seamless sheer to waist with no gusset. I bought them. They were wonderful on their own. Not quite as sensational as the Wolford but half the price. They also vanished after a short time.
if you really love pantyhose, you owe it to yourself to treat yourself to Wolford. They are special. Wear them for that special occasion, whether alone or with someone who enjoys your legs.
Patty,
I have been on the fence about Wolford pantyhose for a couple of years. They are so very expensive. I think you have convinced me to by a pair if nothing else just to say I did it. I do not want to always wonder. Thank you so much.
